well good news today, but unfortunately only a small part of it has to do with immigration lol.

i checked to see if theyve changed the status of my application today, it still says "application received", but when you click on that it also told me that my medicals have been received, idk how long it's been like that for but it's news to me lol i haven't see that until today.

the better news, even though its irrelevant, i graduated cosmetology school today : ) yayyy! 1500 hours later.... never thought id make it with all the time i missed but i did it! hope we all get some better news this upcoming week guys<3

Hi oneandonly. I have updated the spreadsheet, can you let me know when your medicals were done?

And to everyone else, if I have missed an update please let me know.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.. I know I am looking forward to enjoying it after a long week!

Hello, short history.....me and my husband have been married for a yr and 2 months now. We have a 2 yr old and having a baby next month as well. He spent most his time on visitors status here in Canada (he's a green card holder of the United States). October 2012 we decided to get a lawyer and file his papers however he went to North Carolina to get the police certificate that is required and when he tried crossing the boarder in Niagra falls they only gave him a week to stay in canada (they assume he is working here). So he brought the papers to my lawyer and he had to leave so now he is in the US and I sent off the paper works November 14th....they approve me to sponsor him and said his pr application has been sent to Ottawa.

My questions are:
Can he try coming back to Canada now with this letter showing I have been approved to sponsor him?

How much longer before he gets his pr?

I am due to have baby in a few weeks and I can't do this alone I need my husband here with me to manage college, work and 2 kids.

I also ensured I included a doctors note with the application stating my due date for this pregnancy.

Hello, I know I'm seriously late for joining this.
Uhm.... I send in my application Nov 13th express and it was received Nov 14th 2012. My husband medical was done in Mississauga in October2012. Cause we were gonna do inland filing....but he was denied re entry to Canada so we had to change it to Outland. Dec 17th I was approved to sponsor him.

We have been married for a yr n few months, we have a 2 yr old and due to have our baby girl in a few weeks.

They sent my lawyer s letter saying the pr application will be delt with abroad n we can send any info or inquiries to Ottawa----does this mean his papers r being processed in Ottawa?

Yes, that is what that means, processing (VO) will be in Ottawa. I believe that is because he is a PR of the USA (I think the VO follows the place of his legal residence, not his citizenship).

Good luck with your application, your upcoming baby and with your husband's entry into Canada!

How long does Ottawa normally take to process pr papers? We have a 2 yr old son living with me here in Canada n in a few weeks we will have another little one.

Will they consider this and maybe process his papers faster?

Unfortunately having a baby doesn't change anything in processing times as it's the case for quite a few people, and it won't change immigration timeline... it might help to show that you have a genuine relationship, the fact that you have lived together for a while, and have a baby together etc, but you won't be given priority for having a baby soon.... also - Ottawa is listed currently at 12 months, it's the time it takes them to process 80% of the applications, quite a few get done before that, but it's what is stated in the website... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp#west
In your case, it's good because they chose to send the file to Ottawa (since your husband is a US resident) and not to Kingston ( if I remember correctly from your previous posts he is from Jamaica, and Kingston is listed as 17 months, to Ottawa is better!).
GOod luck,

Well London doesn't usually give much news.. the first time I heard from them was when my ecas showed "DM" - it stayed "application received" the whole time and they didn't answer any enquiry I sent, and suddenly one day it turned into "decision made"....
GOod luck,
