Fingers crossed that tomorrow brings some good news! We were approved for Stage 1 on Dec 11th and I'm still awaiting my AOR from Ottawa-was hoping we would sneak through before the holiday closure so yeah..I hate waiting. This whole process has forced me to deal it haha

Hi Lindissa,

I haven't heard of anyone receiving an AOR from Ottawa after Stage 1 approval..even on the other threads (I look in on the Sept and Oct threads regularly to see how those folks are faring). Maybe I'm just not seeing them...can you direct me to any you have seen recently? Also, looking on the Ottawa spreadsheet there aren't any (with the exception of two application from last May).

I'm not thinking any of us will get an AOR from Ottawa.

so they work this week, good to know. last time i saw their update was dec 19? 43 days and they were working on files received on nov 6.

no progress for a week? i am so disappointed seeing this. mine arrived there on 8th, so we were saying the whole week, this week is our turn.

It might still be your turn! because CIC is also working on applications received in December, and in end of November - so hopefully it's your turn even if CIC website doesn't say the date... it just means that you can't call them and ask about it... fingers crossed you'll hear today or tomorrow!

i just thought canadian embassy or consulate in your area can give you a number you can call from the states.

theyre not gonna give me the answer i want anyways lol, before you even get to talk to someone it says "we cannot inform you of the status of your application..." so i guess my answer is just ..... WAIT. its just ridiculous that it was there on the 1st of the month, according to Canada Post and according to the CIC website... it makes me happy to see other get approval, but also frustrated because why are the approvals so random.

If you are past the date shown on the CIC website they will talk to you and tell you what is going on. They say that on the recorded message just so they won't be bothered by people asking before the published dates.

Faith ...faith that where your Sponsorship approval letter says "Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing." has really happened.

I agree it would be more reassuring if the would issue AOR from Ottawa. I'm not sure if they are just too busy to do it, or if there is some change/difference in procedures.

I soooo understand.... and I've been hoping you guys get your approval for so long now... it would be so much easier to wait if they processed them in order of arrival. Or if they at least informed you they have it and that they started processing it. I understand some applications can take longer to process but it doesn't seem like they process them in order. It is nice to see other people getting their approvals for sure, but still I wished they'd process those who have waited longer too.
Well, at least you know they have your application, it's not much but it's something we don't even know that... imagine if after more than 2 months of waiting we find out they never received it...

Ok, I should stop complaining and concentrate on other things!
oh and william coates, your post made me feel better, it's nice to know I'm not the only one feeling like this... our applications were received the same day so they must be in the same pile somewhere

We were told (my husband had to call CIC) two weeks ago that it would take max 2 weeks for our (Nov 8th) turn...but looks like we have to wait longer. I was hoping they'd be processing Nov 9th so we could call them but maybe next week!

Hey m_and_m,
It sure was a knock in the patience department when I looked at the update on the CIC website and noticed no change. I was convinced that they would be working on at least Nov 8th applications. They must of recieved a huge amount of applications the beginning of November or some employees took time off for vacations. "fun in the sun" It doesn't explain the random order of apps that have been processed but I would think that Nov 1st to Nov 8th applications are sitting on the same desk. In any case I think it would be a safe bet to assume that ours will be looked at some time next week if they aren't already being processed. At least by next thursday you should be able to call and get some information from the call center.

I apologize for all that I have not updated the spreadsheet this week, have had internet troubles. It is on my list this week, so the spreadsheet will be update!
