Also, how did you guys submit your skype/chat logs? Most of mine were on my iPad and since I couldn't just "copy/paste" them onto Word, I just took screen shots of the convo and printed them as pictures. Do you think that's acceptable?

it will probably be fine - what CIC wants is to see that you communicate with your partner. And if they need more information, they can ask for it at a later stage. As a general advice - now that you are waiting for the application to be approved, it's a good idea to keep all records of communication with your partner - even if that includes using a computer rather than skype, keeping track of the history etc.
Some applicants get asked for more proofs of on-going communication between the moment you sent your application, and the moment it's opened at the VO (probably at least 3 months from now, depending on which VO you are dealing with), so try to pay attention to that and collect it just in case.
Good luck,
Sweden

Great, thanks so much! I will deff keep track of communication. I'm also planning on visiting him during my summer vacations next year so hopefully that will add to it as well : )

it will for sure - keep track of plane ticket, boarding pass, etc... you might not need it at all, but in case you do - better be prepared and ready to send everything really quickly when asked! it's also easier to collect as you go, as you are now aware of what is needed ( contrary to when you started the process probably...).
Good luck!

No probs, Sharona....All the best!

I found the 'proof of communication' portion challenging as my wife and I are living together in Canada, I'm here on the visitors visa and have been extending it. We've literally lived together since the moment we met due to the circumstances of our initial meeting (met in Bhutan where we were teaching and moved together). So, hopefully CIC sees that we've lived together since we met and counts that. We printed off our early emails, but we rarely email as we see each other every day. But, we also have a baby, so I'm pretty sure that shows our genuine loving relationship to be true :D

you should be fine... if you have lived together and you can explain why you don't have many emails, then it's ok... my partner and I also lived together almost from the beginning and we could fish out some emails from the few times we were away from each other but we only sent 4 emails in total... but on the contrary we could prove that we have been living together, we traveled together ( plane tickets, pictures of place we went to, etc), have a common bank account, etc, and we were approved. So it's not about the number of emails, but to be able to show that you are a couple - whatever proofs you use... and living together and having a child is a pretty good one! so no worries there...
Good luck,

Hi all I'm trying to log in into the ecas but unfortunately I just see the sponsor name and the option to remove the ability for me or anyone else to view the status of the application and address information on this web site. Does anyone had a similar problem?

it takes a while for ecas to work. but DO NOT click on the ability thing, otherwise you won't be able to check ecas at all! so try and click on "application received" ( which should be underlined), or if you see it "decision made" - otherwise just give it a day or two and it will start working..
Good luck,

the thing is they said to click on the underline status but there is no underline status so i guess i just have to wait.
thx for ur quick response

Hello all November applicants,

I'm giving a hand to RM15 to update the spreadsheet as it is a lot of information to get at the same time... I have gone through the thread and try to "fish" the information for each of you, but there is some that is still missing...

For some, where there is no precise date for "application received", I have tried to "guess" but of course, feel free to let me know if you have a more accurate date. I tried to put applicants in order of application received in CIC because that should make the most sense (even if with CIC nothing is really ever logical!).

Can you please go to the spreadsheet (here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvI5l_hMO7UKdEdfaUlQa2hWLTExdGhCUHM0ZWFOUFE#gid=0 ), and if something needs to be corrected/completed, post it here? as most of you don't have the ability yet to send private messages (10 posts are needed for that).

Also - for those going inland, I haven't added you in the spreadsheet yet, but of course - I am not excluding you, and if you wish to be added, please post it here as well, and I will add you - in a specific section of the spreadsheet at your process will be very different.

Also - I'm missing a few Visa Offices information - everybody goes to Mississauga first (for outland) so no need to put that in the spreadsheet, but it would be great to know which outland VO your file will be handled at ( it makes a difference once stage 1 is approved of course, not for stage 1 itself, but might as well get all information correct).

The spreadsheet starts to look quite nice, and now that December has officially started, the November group will be more or less "set' ( even if of course there are always people joining a bit later on the forum, and they can always be added later on!).

Good luck to all,
Sweden

Yes that's normal - given the fact that your approval is only a few days old, that's common - it can take up to a week or 10 days for ecas to work, so don't worry about it.... and ecas won't really tell you much at that point anyway! :-)

Done :-) could have seen this one because it actually says so on your profile... and congrats on the super short sponsor approval - amazing! that's about... 9 times faster than I had to wait! :-) I probably applied at the worst time and I'm glad to see that CIC has picked up the pace, and doesn't make everybody wait 90 to 100 days before anything happens! good luck for stage 2.
