Thanks SAM. I finally can log into e-cas with the UIC number that was given in the email. It just says that my application was received on Jan 18, 2011. How did you find out that the Med Req letter was already been dispatched? Did you have to call them?

The day your file is opened the same day mediclal request is shipped. They have thousands of files to process....so for 6 months our file was created , but was not opened until the visa officer issued you a file number....
I got access to e-CAS on july 11, 2011.....CIC updates their database every sunday night...so my file was opened on 7th and medicals was sent on the same day, but I could not acces my e-CAS till the system was refreshed (on sunday) ....finally when I mailed them on 11th regarding my updates (when i got access to my e-CAS), they responded that a correspondent was send on july 7th....thats how I figured that medicla and file number are done on the same day. so if u have access to e- CAS, u mediclas is already shipped. I might be wrong, but I m pretty sure that medcials are out the same day visa officer opens the file (if ur case is straight forward with no problems).
The UCI# that u mentioned is on my mediclas...they never provided me with UCI#...they gave me my buffalo file #, and a reciept#.....via email. So if u see UCI# then u have all the same info as I do....
ur mediclas are out for sure.

I am good mahesari. No, I have booked an appoinment for august 11th, 2011....cannot get anything earlier then this.
Well the answer to your question is kind of tricky. just a few months ago it was taking 6-7 months after mdicals to get ur final PR. Suddenly, I have reads other threads where people are getting in withing 3.5- 4 months, thr process has really picked up currently. I hope on average should be around 4 months. Lets hear a little moer from people wo have filed just 8-12 weks b4 we did.

U might wanna fire a quick email to buffalo office! currently, people who applied in mid- jan are getting their mediclas.....I see no reason why you did not recieve your medical request yet!

I think (hoping) it is because i changed jobs in Feb! I sent them a email a few weeks ago and got a reply asking for canadian fingerprint criminal check. so maybe it is in the mail???

Fingerprint check is normally done for those who came to Canada before age 18. There may be more reasons. One of my close friends, who applied in CEC category, did that last year before getting medical request. It surely delayed his timeline.

So really hoping it is because i changed jobs and moved since my application (i did follow all the protocol i.e let PNP people know and filled in all paperwork required etc) I just sent Buffalo another email so hopefully i will hear something soon!!!!!

Sorry man!! could not answer that question... It is weired, but as ROSSEI said, it has happened to his friend. You should not be worried as far as ur clean with criminal reocrds...just be patient. keep me updated about ur case..I have not heared anything like this b4!

"The creation of permanent resident applications in our database along with the mailing of the acknowledgement of receipt letter is taking a minium of 30 weeks.
Any application submitted without the required documents and information will be returned to the applicant."

My application was sent on December 2010. Which is more than 30 weeks.

Now I am really frustrated

If u can access t then email them , saying that mail has not arrived and probably is lost.

If u cannot acess ur e- CAS, then be calm and ait till u hear something.

Hi SAM,

When I check e-CAS by using my CID on work permit, it shows the info about FSW which I wthdrew on September 2010. Nothing about PNP application.

Not sure what that email means.

I'm the September 2010 applicant. done my Medical request in May and also Criminal record check in June.
However, my e-CAS inquiry always shows "Application received" and never been update since then.

I'm wondering if other ppl have the similar issue.

hi. i have the same case as yours. buffalo received my application 5 oct. 2010 got my medical request some time in april. when i check ecas still no update. this is really frustrating...

The trend I have been witnessing is like this, 3 months from medical your file will be transferred to a local consulate and then it depends on the consulate how long it takes to give you the PPR.

how often they transfer files to local counselate.. I mean I am assuming very minute percentage are sent to local counselate.. and majority are done by Buffalo itself... Any idea based on what criteria they sent to local counselate... or they randomly sent to local counelate..?
I am assuming senting to local counselate means more and more delay. is that right??
