Congratulations!Just received an email saying that my eCOPR is available for download! Finally, now it's basically all over! Huge thanks to everyone in this forum who helped out either directly or indirectly!
I'm FINALLY officially a permanent resident of Canada! This journey has been so, so long—about 7 years in total—but the actual processing of my Non-Express Entry PR was actually very fast, exactly 1 day under 6 months from start to finish (timeline in my signature)
My case had some unique challenges. I came to Canada as a specialized worker in a Finance/High Tech company in 2017, and even though I had lots of experience in my field, I never graduated from university. Every lawyer and consultant I spoke to said there was no hope for my PR (and I spoke to so many! One even suggested I go back to my country to finish university before coming back to Canada. Other said it was pointless to create a Express Entry profile - and I missed the opportunity during the low scores in the pandemic). That was all totally my fault though, of course, for not doing the research myself.
I had lost all hope and then I found out about the PNP Foreign Worker stream in this forum, a stream which doesn’t require a diploma (other streams without this requirement wouldn’t give me enough points).
After so much stress and uncertainty, I can finally relax. No more work permit renewals! The past 7 years have been a roller coaster, with every small chance of getting PR raising my hopes only to be disappointed.
And now that's all behind me! I can finally, after 7 years, call Canada home!

If you think it doesn’t looks original, you can notarized it and make an affidavit. It won’t be an issue.@Miss bee I have a question regarding secondary applicant Birth Certificate.
My spouse original birth certificate issued in my home country is in English but hand written with seal and sign on it. I recently saw couple of people getting rejections with same situation.
Is hand written official birth certificate is not an acceptable one, in this case what can be done? the person submitted with notarized true copy and submitted additional documents too, still rejected. I am afraid if its gonna be same for me. What can be done before AOR to avoid return of application, please advise.
PIU doesn’t means misrepresentation. It’s got thing that your medical got extended. Most probably you are stuck in security.Hey there, got my GCMS notes today and the most recent note says:
2024/04/16
Reassessment has been granted and a new medical certificate with a validity of 12 months has been issued in GCMS. Please pick up the IME number again in order to update the medical validity on the application. PIU TR List April 15, 2024.
Also, as a side note, the previously redacted notes such as "Security review ongoing" from Feb 2024 are not redacted this time.
My medical expired this Feb since I did it in Feb 2023. It got re-completed this April. I am inland applicant.
Here's my question:
I find from several sources that PIU means misrepresentation and is a reason for concern, but there are also others that say it's "nothing but just to extend expired medical based on applicant already in Canada" from this source. https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/piu-tr-to-pr-2023.830239/page-2 Should I be worried that my case is under further investigation?
Thanks Miss bee! That's reassuring. I have been under security check since April 2023, so hopefully something good will happen soon..PIU doesn’t means misrepresentation. It’s got thing that your medical got extended. Most probably you are stuck in security.
Congrats! I am happy to see your timeline! It is hope for us! 7 months is awesome!Sure, it's in my signature field, but sometimes on phones it doesn't show... so here it is:
