Hi, janangela and bldc ;D

Wow. I didn't know $600 was already expensive for a room in Canada. Is $900 reasonable for a 1BR condo/apartment? We're movin' somewhere with that kind of price range, and I thought that was cheap. Guess I don't have a true sense of what's cheap or not anymore. And I tell ya, the wage/hr in Manitoba is not actually what you think. I believe they are one of the lowest income earners. :( Hehe.

But.....work opportunities in Manitoba are so seldom, especially if you don't start as a Nurse right away. I wonder what's waiting for me there. I can't work at Tims though, I'm bad at holding cups of any thing, especially hot coffee. ;D ;D ;D

Workforce is just as bad in ontario too :( So many of my friends arent even in the field they studied for.. as of me, im trying to get on a school board as a teacher, as of now i can only find private schools to work in.
But its definitely worth it to move down here ifyou find the job you love! theres also a lot of secondary industries within gta to work for.. and applying with an agency can give you short term and lead to long term jobs. when i just graduated from univ. i went with the agency called RANDSTAD and they found receptionist job for me within a month of applying with them.. i loved that job actually, great pay as well!

The jobs are starting to come back to Alberta. Oil and gas is slowly making a comeback. I have a 3 bedroom apartment near the West Edmonton Mall, paying $1250 includes heat and hot water.

sistar, $600 kasi is just a room, you shared the kitchen and bathroom pa with others. I dunno the market in Manitoba but $900 for a 1 bedroom in Toronto is okay na.

Correct! youre lucky to get 900 for 1 bedroom.. otherwise those are the prices of bachelor pads only.

you know i hate lawns/backyards coz of winter! shovelling sucks! hahaha but it is better if you have small kids. we have 4 more years to go before our youngest is 18, maaga kami lumandi pareho e, we are happy naman coz we'll still be young when they leave the nest. :p

Yes, youre rightm shovelling is the worst! But i love having a lawn and my garden haha. Hubby loves to bbq, were pretty social people as well and planning to have many bbq's in the backyard haha. Although the amenities for condos are worth having a condo!

Same!! I dont mind having a backyard. But the pain of cutting the grass is :-X and i hate shovelling! Lol. I prefer to stay in a condo/apartment, less maintenance. Lol

Thats a reasonable price! In toronto, u get lucky to have one bedroom apt with that price and some of them doesnt even include utilities yet. Average rent for one BR apt in toronto is around $1500.

You can ask other people or post on the NNAS thread, but I believe CNO can waive the IELTS Requirement for Ontario applicants. CNO means College of Nurses of Ontario.

Read here: http://www.cno.org/en/become-a-nurse/qa-national-nursing-assessment-service/
i will check on that. Thank you.

Question:

How long does it usually take for a mycic acct to be updated from "we need this document from the applicant to RECEIVED" after one submitted the additional documents being asked?
