No news yet. Maybe later today, hoping! :)

The medical is valid for a year. :) And the validity of the COPR will be based on the medical as well.

If the medical was taken on April 24, 2016, and the visa is ready to be issued, COPR will be valid until April 24, 2017 only.

Oh i see! makes sense.

and yes i do notice they send emails around 10 - 11 pm canada eastern time!

My wife did the upfront medical May of 2016. They didn't let her do the MMR due to possible pregnancy. She was supposed to get it after done but totally missed it. After 3 months, she got pregnant and will be due in June.
We submitted our application for spusal on November and still waiting for the their decision. Can she still enterCamada without the MMR vaccinations just incase she gets approve before she give birth?
Thanks

congrats!! thats great news :) glad theyre not making you retake medical, thats really nice of them!!

Thanks. They wait for my response if I can leave before my medical expires otherwise they will send me re-medical instructions. Well of course I replied I can leave even before April 15! :)

Congrats Stesh. You were a month after my wife's application, so hopefully we will hear soon. My wife's medical expires in April.

Sometimes, one may get a request for re-medical if in 3-6 months time, the decision is not ready to be made yet. If everything is Passed, and medical expiry is the only thing that hinders them to issue the visa, they make an effort to reach out to applicans if they can enter Canada before the medical expires, if not, they have the power to extend the medical expiry for 3 months or for another year. Sometimes, this does not happen at all and would just issue a re-medical. Ha. You just can't tell what the VO does. They are the most unpredictable creatures. Lol

They really are! Super inconsistency! I just want good news this week or at the very least some sort of update! Nothing to do but be patient..

I answered this in your thread. Yes, she can enter Canada without it. It is not mandatory for her to have it. Did she have the medical at St. Luke's? They are pretty notorious about telling applicangs that the vaccine is required upon entry.

youre right st lukes insisted my husband get vaccinated!

Thanks! Surely your wife is next in line. They might call you before the medical expires to confirm entry to Canada before the expiry date.

Oh, you sent ur docs twice. Bec on the email we rcvd from them, they asked us to submit the doc to one method only to avoid delay of the app process. I was planning to upload it on the acct as well, but im hesitant bec i already sent thru email.
Yes, I also noticed that on my email. But I took the risk, and thank God I got no prob with that. It's okay if you sent your add docs through email, as long as you received their generic reply you have nothing to worry. You will get an update soon. Just keep on praying. Godbless us.

I fell for the same trick! What a waste of money! The doctor even had the nerves to tell applicants it is needed upon entry. What a shame.
regarding MMR, can i take it from our Public health center? I am working at our municipal hospital here in our area and the health center which only beside us, is giving MMR vaccines to infants, can i take yhe same vaccines?

Hi, janangela and bldc ;D

Wow. I didn't know $600 was already expensive for a room in Canada. Is $900 reasonable for a 1BR condo/apartment? We're movin' somewhere with that kind of price range, and I thought that was cheap. Guess I don't have a true sense of what's cheap or not anymore. And I tell ya, the wage/hr in Manitoba is not actually what you think. I believe they are one of the lowest income earners. :( Hehe.

But.....work opportunities in Manitoba are so seldom, especially if you don't start as a Nurse right away. I wonder what's waiting for me there. I can't work at Tims though, I'm bad at holding cups of any thing, especially hot coffee. ;D ;D ;D

I think the wages are stuck in Manitoba for a few years with the conservative government running the province. Finding a good decent job here is a bit of a challenge, even with a city this size. The good thing is we do have a fair bit of manufacturing here still. But the good news, with the low wages, atleast things are still cheap in Manitoba compared to the rest of the country.

A friend that just left Winnipeg had his apartment on Portage Avenue in the west end for $700/month, and it was a bachelor suite. Also avoid downtown if you can.... lol

Well... here goes another week of waiting for a PPR.... Maybe we need Oprah to work at the MVO for a week... could you imagine..
