Hello! I've been looking to see how other applications have been doing and have a few questions myself but I can't understand alot of the messages here. I am Filipino but I dont speak or understand tagalog so its hard for me to read this thread. So I'd like to ask a few questions for someone sponsoring their spouse from the Philippines, especially if they are already here in Canada,

1. How long did it take for your application to process? I'm currently 4 months into my application, while I did not get official Sponsorship approval yet I have reason to believe I was approved within a few weeks as my wifes application was already in manila shortly after my sponsorship was being processed.

2. If you have missing documents (which I hope I don't) when would they contact you? I'm sure I had everything needed for the application but i've been worried that I missed something and I'm curious how soon they would have told me about it.

3. Lastly, when your spouse was approved - how did they inform you? Was it by email or was it a phone call? I've come to realize that the online status updates are not very dependable.

Thank you for anything you can tell me! ;D

Hello guys!

Help naman. May mga questions lang ako about my application and just wanted to make sure that I'm on the right track. Katatapos lang ng SA ko and based sa ecas ng applicant (hubby) "started processing" na pero wala pang narereceive na AOR2.

1. Lagi ba talagang nagsesend ng AOR2 ang CEM? May case ba na hindi sila nag send ng AOR2?

2. Do I need to contact CEM? Assuming wala kaming mareceive na AOR2, kailan ko sila dapat kontakin?

3. I'm paranoid na what if hindi mapansin ng hubby ko ang email at mabura nya, may update ba sa ecas if nag email sa amin ang CEM?

Thank you in advance sa help.

I've been investigating din for the past few weeks since I did not have received any outgoing correspondence from manila visa office. So I've been checking people's aor 2 from manila visa offices, most of the people I checked on,AOR 2 were given and they asked for additional documents. (NBI,PCC,AOM etc etc)

What we did nang asawa ko is we got our gcsm notes and from there mas mainam yun kasi matrace mo kung ano ginagawa nila even kelan na update yun status including mga notes nang visa officer. Pati paper trace file andon din. Saka nakita ko din yun updates nila and since ni pull out na data is 06/28/2016 namin, latest update was June 6, 2016 on the notes, including the email we sent to update our new passport copy( they didnt ask it, we voluntarily gave them kasi alam namin expired na passport ) , we also saw the request email from our end for gcsm notes. As in yun gcsm notes parang literally diary sya nang Application paper mo.

Good luck sis. Dont worry, will ni God yan magkasama ang magasawa kaya I know and I have faith makasama naten mga asawa naten.

Keep the faith.

pahingi po ng link ng spreadsheet for 2016 manila outland. thanks

I'm gonna try to answer your questions, but I'm nowhere near done with my application/sponsorship. Just submitted on June 1st, AOR on June 22nd. I'll answer based on what I've read from the two Manila threads.

1. Usual processing time for a complete package (upfront meds, complete forms, Appendix B photos included, advisory on marriages AND marriage certificate provided) seems to be around 8 to 10 months. The shortest I've seen was 6 months. It was a 2014 applicant who got their visa in 2015. What's your status on ECAS, if you don't mind?

2. I want to say 6 months. Again, sometimes it's shorter, sometimes longer. If you're 4 months into your application and you want to know what's going on, I would suggest ordering GCMS notes.

3. Some people rely on ECAS (status would change to "Decision Made"). Some people get a passport request, usually by email, I believe (if they ask for the passport, it means that they're ready for visa stamping).

Basically, CIC isn't always consistent. If you gave them your email address, they'll probably send you sll communication electronically. However, they may also contact you by email for the first few correspondences and then by post for the last, or vice versa, or email-post-email-etc. Processing times vary as well. It all depends on the visa officer/s working on your case.

Hi Michelle!

Just like what other members' suggestions, make sure lang to have a straight forward application which means you have all forms filled up properly and signed, supporting documents as needed esp the proof of relationship. If you will submit the application yourself, would suggest you write a good cover letter by saying a summary of how you and your husband completed all the forms with all supporting documents, etc.. You might want to mention your current condition as of writing of the letter and that your EDD or estimated due date is on __________. You might want to attach as well, a copy of pregnancy test from your doctor that shows the EDD. Basta any supporting documents that you think will satisfy them or they might ask, isama mo na :-) And as far as you know that they are already receiving everything that they might need and would like to see, that you hope or wish to have your husband's visa granted to him prior to your EDD.

Again, the above is only a suggestion if you will be doing and submitting the application yourself. Otherwise, you may hire an agent. Hiring an agent though does not mean the application will be done faster than those who chose to have their application done personally.

Good luck and take extra care esp with a very special little one that is now growing inside you :-)

Thank you Survivor! I will take note of your suggestion. Actually both of us are doing the application forms. I asked him na ipa-LBC nalang all the documents that I needed from him since hindi naman ako pwede mag sign on his behalf. Thank you again Survivor after his medical I told him to send me all the documents I need from him.

Welcome to GCMS Notes - if you want to know about status of your visa file and check the case history of your application for permanent residence in Canada, we are here to serve you...! We offer this service for those who applied for a Canadian visa (Immigration, Student, Visitor or Work visa). This service allows applicants to obtain information contained in their visa file. This visa file is often referred to as GCMS. It is the most comprehensive and up-to-date information that can be legally obtained from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC).

Yan ang explanation sa website follow mo lng this site for info and ordering gcms

Here's a link of another thread that is quite helpful esp for those who are still putting together everything about their application (Just like me :) ) < http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-i-organized-our-applcation-and-a-summary-of-all-helpful-tips-i-have-learned-t92449.0.html > It was initiated by another Filipino 4 years ago. Many members here from different countries are very grateful to have found her post about organizing the application and other helpful tips.
