for how long u stuck in background check
This is what I figured out:

The Process in a Nutshell:

Stage-1: [CIO stage] Send Initial Apps+Processing Fees to CIO-NS > Qualitative Check > Issue of AOR+120 days Letter >

Stage-2: [CHC stage onwards] Send Full Docs+RPRF to the Local Visa Office > File on Queue > e-Cas: "Received by Visa Office" > Eligibility Check+PSDEC > Issue of 2nd AOR > Background Check > Issue of Additional docs Request [if any] > 1st BF'D > e-Cas: "In Process" > Send Addnl. Docs > Issue of Med Request > 2nd BF'D >

Stage-3: Meds Sent > e-Cas: "Medical Results Recd." > Issue of PPR* > Send Passport/s > Security Check > Visa/s Stamped > e-Cas: "Decision Made" >
*The Meds & PPR are sometimes 'clubbed' together.

Stage-4: Return of 'Stamped' Passport/s+COPR > Landing at the POE > e-Cas: "Completed".

Hi all,

I'm also 2013 applicant. I applied for spouse visa for my husband in Sept 2013. Subsequently, in October 2013 I received a mail stating that the received the application and would want my husband's passport and landing fees. We have submitted the passport since then.

Now, in June 2014 they asked for re-assessment of medicals and new Police Clearance Certificate. Its been almost a month since then and no news from embassy.

Also, when I check my application status its written that the processing time is 15 months, which was 12 months when my application started processing.

My questions are:
1. When does this processing time period start from? The day my application received the embassy or the day they started the processing?

2. Is there any helpline contact number I can have for any help regarding my file?

Thanks
Nimrat

Hi All,
Please let me know who got ADR? sponsor or sponsored person??

ADR request email was sent to the applicant (Sponsored Person).
But the ADR itself was asking for the sponsor's divorce petition.
This request was made in May in our case.

Friends/Buddies,

Please help!
Just want to know how long are they going to take to stamp the visa after you give the interview.
Those who would have given the interview earlier might know this better.
FYI:

My interview is scheduled on October 7th. Passport is already with NDVO.

Koi tho please batao..
Thank you in advance.

Friends,

As I am in Canada on Work Permit - I need to travel back to India to attend the interview on October 7th.
Passport has been couriered to my Indian home address in Bangalore.
Now, I am not sure how to get my passport. As per Indian law we are not supposed to courier Passports Internationally. I am not aware of anyone who is coming to Canada shorty.
I am as tensed as you can imagine.

Can anyone advise on what actions can be taken legally to get the passport to Canada from India before October 7th?

Hi rksandhu,
ADR means additional document request right? so my query is ndvo asking for sponsor's ADR or sponsored person's ADR till now?

ADR could be anything that's missing from the application or additional proof's.
Some were asked for more pictures if the pictures they initially sent don't please their eyes, Some were asked for communication and continued contact proof (mostly in cases of love marriage) and Some got ADR's for Divorce petition or Divorce Order, etc.,
So in a gist, they always contact the applicant (Sponsored Person via email or preferred method of contact ) or the authorized rep (like a lawyer) with their concerns even if they want additional docs pertaining to the sponsor.

How did you manage to send the passport to them initially? Did you not think about this situation then?
I know people in the past got their passports carried and delivered to them by trusted sources.
So look around ask in your work place or inner circle who is travelling or returning from India or maybe some Good Samaritan from this forum can raise to the occasion..anybody?

To answer question 1, processing time starts from the day the Visa Office receives your application.

I had sent my passport through one of my friends who was travelling to India in January. I never knew I will have an interview and also I didn't know when NDVO would send the passport - so didn't plan for it and I have myself to blame for it. I have been checking with quite a few in the company here - still haven't found one :(

its depend on the situation...our application attached wid two persons sponsor and applicant. ..so they asked for ADR for any of them...
for e.g. forum member chatwant in dere case they asked ADR to sponsor. ..
in other cases they asked ADR like pcc to applicant. ..

Welcome to this waiting game.
1. The process time 15 month is the average period last 12 months by NDVO from the date application recd at NDVO. This is due to strike period the process time was very high which made this huge difference. Real process time for straight cases are shorter.
2. Try your luck with NDVO number Nothing like helpline. MP enquiry sometimes give you correct picture depending on the MP Generally generic answers.
Now that you got reassessment of medicals and new PCC you are in advance stage wait for some development.
Meantime, please post your comple timeline.
Post details on when medical was done originally.
Generally PCC on completion of one year so far they never asked for new one. PCC from which country.
Whether you file moved to IP

Please comment! I did not receive remedical request yet. It's been 9 days since my interview and they said they will send it on the same day as interview. Is this normal? I am very worried. Please share if you have read anything related to this or know anyone in the similar situation. Thanks

1.processing time period start from when they received ur application...

2.yes there is a helpline no-011 4178 2000 just try ur luck. ..I was also call them 10 time when finally someone appers to answer. ..they said they didn't help me through the phone. ..just send us email. ..
