NEW DELHI - 2013 APPLICANTS.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this website and have found it very helpful. I have some questions about my own case. I am a Canadian born citizen. I was living with my spouse until the end of September this year. Here is my timeline:

September 3 2013- Application received at CIC. AOR email came on September 11 2013.
September 19- Received email that Sponsorship approved in CIC and sent to New Delhi.
October 11 2013- PPR
October 18 2013- PP received in Delhi by stamp.
eCas still says Application Received and that medical results have been obtained. Medical was done before sending application.

I found out I was pregnant with our first child. So I came back to Canada to continue my pregnancy in Canada. Where I feel comfortable. I came near the end of September. I sent an enquiry to Delhi telling them about our change of situation and also changed my address through the online form they have.

I just want to know if this is a abnormally fast request for passport and if it's a good sign that the passport was requested so quickly. Also that CIC approved the sponsor side so quickly.

Just some detail about our relationship. It is a love marriage. We got married this yr in March. We had known each other 3 years prior to the marriage. I believe we sent a lot of good proofs. We had a big wedding with many relatives from both sides of the family.

I'm just praying he gets to be here for Christmas. But my prayer is that my Husband is here before the birth of our child. Also he has some travel history from Vacations to Thailand and Singapore etc.

What do u guys think? Oh and I'm due end of March. Also should I send some pictures of ultrasounds etc at this point? Or wait?

Hi Asandhu, I experienced a similar situation, let us say that I had to return in Canada to give birth to my son, who has now 15 months, and his father was unable to see him until he had 11 months, stuck in india, (not only because of the visa, but he waited a long time to get his passeport, so we can apply) and health reasons of my side... It is a difficult test, but we get through. I suggest you to have close relations around you for the birth of your child and in the first weeks to help you, because it seems a little bit unrealistic that you receive the visa for christmas... Have courage, strength, and everything will be fine, you will have your spouse by your side soon and your child will be still young, (compared with me)

I recently heard about this forum from a friend of mine, and found some very useful information and experiences so far. I'd like to post about the situation I'm in and would appreciate any help.

I am currently a full-time post graduate student in BC, Canada. My course ends in 2 months, after which I am eligible for a 3 year work permit. Immediately after obtaining the permit, I intend on returning to India and get married to my girlfriend before moving to Ontario in March.

As soon as I reach India, we would register the marriage and then apply for her Spouse Visa, which entitles her to get a work permit. Now as per my research, she should get the visa for the same duration as mine. Could someone please inform me about how long the process for her visa takes? I know that the website says 30 days if you apply online, but does reality paint a different picture? I'd love to know about similar experiences or if someone is in the same spot.

I just want to know what is the average processing time from PPR to visa issued? I see on the CIC website, they say now, that processing time is 12 months! I mean, i thought with the strike being over, the timelines will get better but it has worsened.

Pl advise.

Possibly its a call from chandigarh Embassy.

Call back at this number or find another contact number of chd embassy and try calling that.
If I were u, I would have gone to chd embassy to give it a try....if u live in punjab not hard to go there....

hey roger, it varies from case to case .. but in my wife's case she got her Passport Request on May 28th, she sent her PP on June 14th, & she received the passport today (i.e November 6th) with visa .. so approx 4 1/2 months after she sent the Passport

Just checked the processing time....CIC increased it to 12 months now ?? wow...so thats their solution for solving the problem. Keep increasing the processing time by 1 month...every month. 3 months ago..it was 10..then 11...and now 12!
