my wifey received her passport with visa today by registered post one of the happiest day of my life!

everyone else who's waiting for their DMs, please try to be patient (I know its hard) but always remember there's light at the end of the tunnel. Good Luck to everyone and may you be with your loved ones soon

Hi all,

I applied for PR(spousal category) in May 2013 after receiving two TRV refusals(Reasons being -no travel history for me, my unemployed status, not showing enough financial proof and not having strong ties in India which would ensure them that I would return at the end of my stay). We have send the application through a lawyer. I got married in January 2013 and my husband is a PR in canada since couple of years.
We have traveled together outside India in July 2013 and after returning from the trip we send my passport in July.
My online application status says "Application received on 9th May".
We have requested for notes and we should receive them soon. Once I get them I will update the story.
My query is - is it still a normal application (having gone through two TRV refusals) as we have send the complete package consulting a lawyer in Canada. Will it be processed in next couple of months or is it completely unpredictable? They requested for passport in June end and we sent it by mid July as we were supposed to travel abroad - Does this delay the application processing?

Assistance of any sort is highly appreciated!!

If its 1 year then its on 11th feb 2014.
Eligibility passed. Interview waived.
All other things not yet started.

Okay,what is the generated date of GCMS Notes? and whom officer ur medical is assigned to?

Hey Hey Hey...quick reply needed from experienced. I got this email from NDVO just now. I could not understand it because my english is not good. Some background info- i have paid two-way courier service to DTDC (just like VFS or Blue Dart). I got email from DELHIIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca....the body looks like this...



As of February 1, 2013, the Canadian Cooperation Office in Kathmandu can no longer forward immigration documents on behalf of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi. As a result, we are unable to return your passport to you via the Canadian Cooperation Office (Kathmandu).

Effective immediately, visa applicants in Nepal are requested to either:

contact the VFS Visa Application Centre in Kathmandu (http://www.vfs-canada.co.in) to arrange for return of your passport; or

provide a mailing address in India to which we can send your passport and documents by registered mail.

We request that you comply with this request within the next 30 days so that we can return your passport.

wow I hope it means that u have got your visa and they request u to send them an address in india so they can return your pp and travel documents (which is much faster).........or contact the VFS Visa Application Centre in Kathmandu to arrange for return of your passport....which u shld do 1st thing in the morning or go to them whatever is possible with the email u got from ndvo they will assist u from there take your recipt two-way courier service with DTDC ..........
they finally clearing jan applicants today........im praying that they are giving u your visa.......let us know what happens ...lots of luck to u

This seems to me like they want to return your passport with a visa, which is awesome news. Do you reside in India? I assume not.

So option #1 is the best option for you. Contact the Kathmandu VFS office and explain that you have gotten an email from NDVO and they are ready to handover passport via Kathmandu VFS Office. So ask them this question:

"Can you please get in touch with NDVO regarding the return of my passport?"

And they will give you a response regarding how to receive this passport. Most likely they will be contacting NDVO directly and will be in touch with the officer or however they do it, because I am certain they have returned other passports before you via their office.
