Hey Mum_girl
That piece of info was really quite useful.. :) Specially the part which speaks about the ECAS being updated weekly... It really is a pain to see no updates on our ECAS...
i just have a doubt... when i try to retrieve my info using my UCI, i find no records... but when i use my Application No., it works fine and gives me the info required... Is there any reason for the same??? Strange though...

It indeed is strange coz it works for me. Just make sure that you enter the information with the correct combination of identification number ie UCI or Application number along with the personal details such as last name, date of birth and place of birth.

And if it still doesn't work then it just might be a system glitch...Hope this helps.

Hi Harshisidhi,,

I saw u mentioned school/ college certificates in a thread.
Do we have to send documents as proof of education for the applicant in Family sponsorship?

I just send my spouse's 10th certificate for proof of birth and no other educational certificates??

Thanks

Buds

They ask for educational details in form like how many years of primary schooling, high school, bachelor degree, trade school etc so u have to provide them all documents like if 10th,12th, degree certi etc if she has done schooling just till 10th thn provide thm marksheet and transcript of it... Hope it helps :-)

Hi, not sure if we have to send them all the educational documents since they're not listed in the checklist. I did send my wife's 10th and 12th documents as identification docs.

U have to write the names of school ur partner studied in as well as provide them those marksheets with transcript of it... Even tho if its in english u have to notarize it and red seal it... :-)

with due respect, I do not agree on this as they did not ask for any transcripts...

I am only in doubt as my wife did M. Eng in England and I have attached a copy of her Resident permit in England, I should have attached a copy of her degree or transcript..

Any other members, any suggestions??

Yes, we do have to put in all the education history but all the education documents are not required to be sent to CHC Delhi. And yes, its good send notarized copies of documents.

Medical Status not Updated yet :(

Hi,

Help me out here guys...

I got the sponsorship approval on April 9 and file was transferred to delhi on the same day. Unlike evryone else, the application status still says "Application Recived on this this date" but it doenst say anyting about medicals.

Am really concerened.. I tried searching if there are people who are in the same situation but couldnt find a solid answer to this scenario.

Any idea why the medicals are not updated yet ???

Thanks

What are Authentic Documents?
Documents are authentic when they are issued by authorized academic institutions, examination boards or the entities that conducted the teaching and/or examinations.

Ensuring Document Authenticity
1. Request that transcripts be sent directly from the student's academic institution.

2. If the institution is not able to send transcripts directly, send copies of the documents submitted by the student to the institution that issued them and ask them to verify their authenticity.

3. When sending a document for verification, check the address to which you send your request against the address that appears in published sources and do not rely solely on the address that is provided on the document itself.

4. It is best not to address verification letters to any particular individual unless you are certain that the person is still in office at that institution. The letter should be addressed to the officer that issued and signed the document: "Controller of Examinations," "Director of Studies" or "Director of International Relations," for example.

Communicating with an Institution Overseas

In addition to mailing documents to the academic institution for verification, you can expedite the process by faxing your request along with the relevant documents. Replies by e-mail are acceptable, provided that you can verify the name and the e-mail of the individual who replied in any of the reference publications such as the International Handbook of Universities, or in the Commonwealth Universities Yearbook, or the institution's website.

Acceptable Verifications Documents must be authenticated by authorized officials at the institution that issued them.
Verifications obtained from embassies, consulates or other officials that are outside of the academic institution are not usually acceptable unless there is reason to believe that those officials have themselves checked the document for authenticity through their office. Photocopies or Originals? This has always been a question for credential evaluators. Today, more and more institutions abroad are capable of sending documents directly to Canadian institutions, and applicants should be asked to arrange for their records to be sent directly from the institutions that they attended. As stated above, when an institution is unable to send documents directly to an institution in Canada, the documents should be sent for verification.

How Long Does Verification Take?
The time it takes to obtain a response from institutions abroad varies by country and institution. Some countries take three or more months before they send a reply. Others will respond quickly, in a matter of weeks or days. Individuals should always be advised to submit their applications early to allow time for the international exchange of correspondence and information.

Translations Documents are most often issued in the official language of the country of origin. However, in many countries, institutions will issue documents in English for students who are bound for Canada. In those cases, students should be required to request that their documents be issued in English (or French) by the institutions themselves.
