My application was transfer to tanzania visa office. Curious if anyone in Nairobi applicants know how.long is the process or the timeline

I thought Nairobi was the only one in east Africa.

Hey OhCanada.Welcome to the forum :)

Did you say Tanzania Visa office? I didn't know they had a visa office in Tanzania. I hope that eases the congestion in Nairobi becasueit's taking forever!!
Goodluck to all

Hi guys!

I just received my AOR and my file was finally transferred to Nairobi on July 21st. Can someone please tell me what the next step is? I see people talking about some notes and keeping track of their application? I know this may sound redundant, but I'm confused as to what to do next so any help will be highly appreciated.

Thank you all for your constant support!

[quote author=zainy Gongrats at least your file is transferred , thats good news for now , next step will be the visa office will start reviewing ur file ( sponsored person ) and if complete and no document is missing , and no interview is needed they just request PPR , If interview required that will take little long simply u will hear some thing in a few months ( i would say 3 months ) , to give u an idea my file was transferred to nirobi in January 6 /2015 , i orderd GCMS note last month and found out every thing interview is required but no date is set yet , keep in mind every file is different

Thanks so much for your response. That makes sense, but just to get an idea, what are these notes for and how would I order them?

GCMS note is basically detail of ur file , i.e. when ur application received here in canada about the deception they already made ( sponsor approval ) and when is ur file transferred to which visa office document submitted , fees that u paid , what is missing , officers note some times they suggest if visa office need to do sponsored person an interview , you partner detail ( forms , background , criminality , medical, bla bla) , as of ordering the GCMS note u need consent form signed by ur Wife/ husband to apply for note on behalf of her cus to order a note u have to be in canada ( permanent or citizen ) , your status in canada for permanent resident PR id , for citizens CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATE OR PASSPORT ( copies ) and fee of 5 dollars , u can apply online or send to office here in canada . frankly my recommendation is for u to order is too early ( all u receive is ur status and ur partners application is transferred ) don't wast ur time , but u can chack ur ecas any time that will tell u status of ur application as well . gd luck

Hey Falmaata its under family class and yes we had a wedding and i send them all the information and everything but i have no idea if they lost my document or not but i send them all the docu they needed im now waiting.

Koko i don't think they lost documents , remember this is immigration and citizenship, but i don't know some times depend on whats on your application ( answers ) , ur circumstance , ( length of ur relationship etc) make the officer to ask for more pic evidences , maybe order GCMS note and find out what the officers note on ur file . hope that will help a lot …..good luck

Goodluck to all

I have recently found out they do and there is no timeline . I have searched in forum if there was other applicant same situation as I but can't seem to find . I hope it will be better than Nairobi because it's forever .

Which website did u order the notes from???
My file was transferred in March 2015 to Niarobi n haven't heard anything yet.
Just app received n medical received.

Sammjj go to CIC , Access to information act, and apply , if u are in Canada but if you are out of Canada u need to apply under privacy act

thanks!!!

You can order by CC. Follow this link:

https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do

The principal applicant will need to sign the consent form in order for the sponsor to apply for the notes on his/her behalf:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/form-imm5744.asp

Fill out the consent form with the applicant's info, print it and have him/her sign it and then scan it and upload it. Pay the fee and your done. If you have anymore questions just ask.

P.S Always choose electronic files.

Correction samjj, if u and Ur partner is in Canada apply under privacy act , if Ur partner is out of Canada apply under Access to information act

Hey Curlysue,

I know it is frustrating and been a while now since any major changes. I applied January 2015. Can I ask you when did your ecas status change to application "in-process"? Does it show medical received? I'm assuming you submitted medicals upfront.
thanks

Hi alwy, I applied Nov 2014- ecas status changed to in process in June 2015. I did submit medicals upfront, but they did not show up for a long time. In June after in process, we got email requesting medicals form be forwarded again to Nairobi-and then ecas started showing medicals completed.
I wouldn't worry too much about the medicals-all we did was email the same form to Nairobi office with our file number after they asked.

Also, in update- we got passport request so perhaps there is hope!
