Got RPRF request today and paying that ASAP. Got a request for RCMP police check which is strange since I am American. Seems its because I have been a visitor more than 7 months though.
Any country in which you have lived for more than 6 months, regardless of the status you held there you must provide a police check for that country

Hi,

I was hoping someone would know how long it usually takes from the confirmation e-mail that the Right of Permanent Residency Fee payment has been received (since it was not paid initially), to the residency being approved.

Any insight is helpful.
Thank you!

Hi Peeps,

I'm putting together documents to file spousal application for my spouse who is outside Canada. Would receiving Ontario trillium benefits and GST/HST credits considered as receiving social assistance?

Kindly advise!

No, those are just reimbursement credits for low-income households. It's to offset the sales tax they pay.

My wife just got off the phone with immigration and all they could tell her is that applications can take up to 12 months, and they couldn't give her any other info other than what is online on gckey, nor conferm or deny that the app is even in Mississauga. Is this normal? I have heard of people getting lots of information through the call center...

Wow, Congrats!

This gives hope that they're really upping their game on getting things processed. Now if only they could look at my file too, haha...
I really wish they would! It must be so frustrating for you :(

Incredibly frustrating...

But, good things come to those who wait, and I also know there are still very many people waiting much longer than me already.

Seems like we should have submitted our applications in April :D:D
Indeed it does...

Also saw your other post about the callcentre. Try again with a different agent. I've spoken to a few and some were helpful; others weren't. I had one really go into detail about every aspect of the application to make sure all was good. It really depends on the agent.

It also helps how you phrase the questions. I don't just ask what the status is, but I try to be more specific and say things like, I haven't heard anything in a while, would it be possible that you're still waiting for a document from me? -or- I received a letter saying my application would be processed in Mississauga; is this still the case?

Thanks for the suggestion, we will try again in a few days hopefully we have better luck!

See another Mississauga processed April applicant on the British Expats forum got their DM and PPR. Again a mixture of pleased for those with such good news and "great that they're going so fast!" mixed with "what's going on with us Jan and Feb applicants!?!".

Got my GCMS notes, they tell me very little other than:

Eligibility: not started
Security: not started
Criminality: not started
Medical: passed
Info sharing: complete

Only thing clearly written by an actual visa officer was this:

I wonder what 'R11 routing' means? Perhaps that's the streamlined process note now for Mississauga

It also mentions OB570 elsewhere so not sure.
