Hi all,

We received an email today (!!!) asking for an updated Schedule A. Specifically, we were asked to re-do questions 8 (personal history) & 12 (addresses).

For question 8, it was a matter of wording on the form. The form says to put work history for the last 10 years, or since the age of 18. We put for the last 10 years, turns out they want since the age of 18... sigh.

For question 12 I am a bit confused. In the letter they state that they want addresses since the age of 18. My husband has lived in the same house since he was 14, so we put the date that he moved there (1992, he was 14). So do they want me to change it to the year 1996 when he turned 18? This is what I am assuming, but I thought I'd double check that we should just change 1992 to 1996. The letter ominously says "This document has to be duly completed as you will not have another opportunity to do so." in bold and underlined font.

Also, anyone have any cheaper solutions for sending in 1 document? DHL wants $55 US

We had the exact same request and when we went in, we said we were confused because clearly the question was asking for 10 years in our case (my spouse is 38) and she said "yes i'm sorry, we actually changed it and we need 18 years now but the forms haven't been updated." -very nice!
Definitely recommend any newbies to go back all the way.

They also asked for our addresses again which we put the same thing again because we put since 18 to begin with. They accepted the same answer again. I wonder if that email they send is just a template that they give to everyone.

Goodluck :)

Ah. that is lame. Especially considering it would have been no effort for us to just put the extra 3 years, had we have known!! He was in the same job/same house.

Anyway, thank you so much for the response! I guess we are off to DHL tomorrow to mail this sucker. Too bad they don't accept email or fax :(

Muchacha! What a horrible letter to receive! Though I'm pleased you have an opportunity to correct it.

So there was one of those Canada Post delivery notices in my mail box today... have to pick it up tomorrow. Would it be unprecedented for the the sponsorship approval letter to arrive after three weeks? Or would they use regular post without a signature required for that?

Please, please, please tell me they aren't returning the package because something is missing/wrong.

Nah, it's not so bad. It is an easy enough thing to send in! I was just happy to hear from them, ha.

As for your mail, I'm really not sure! Hopefully it isn't the package! Or maybe someone is sending you a surprise present :) The good news is that Stage 1 is super fast now, even if it is the package. Think positively!

We had exactly the same thing.. my husband was 32 and i read that question about the last 10 years or 18th birthday which ever comes first and i was SURE we did it right and they still asked us for that and the addresses.. but now that you say that about the forms not being updated it make sense .. i never understood that till now! thanks

well, if you are talking about Df, then you r talking bout Mexico city, it gets me a bit offended as well the fact that u compare Ciudad Juarez with Mexico City, I was born and raise in Mexico C. and never in 22 years got stolen or sth like that. Kind of gets annoying that people still think that Mexico city can be terribly dangerous when is way to far to be like that now in the days...I LoVE DF!!
i have zero opinion on this whatsoever.. but my husband grew up in mexico city and he was robbed twice.. once just him.. and once the entire bus he was on... sooo clearly everyone has their own experience and therefore their own opinion..which is fine...i am sure many people love df and think its safe and many love df and dont think its safe.. to each their own.. just sharing my husbands experience..

Does somebody know if when sending the passport to the embassy do we have to write the file number on the envelope?
Because i didnt, since i sent it with UPS they always print the name, address and tracking number
so i was thinking that for not haven't written the file number on the envelope it may cause a delay, i just hope not

Lol, I wasn't comparing mexico city to cuidad juarez, those are the places where medicals are now avaliable in Mexico which are a bit of a stretch to Mexicans living in the south of mexico and a plane ride or two day bus trip is needed, which is why Merida was a much better option. I find it frusterating when people go back to my posts month ago and then take it out of context.

Again, for the record, I advocate safety in ALL parts of Mexico.

If anyone has had an interview and wouldn't mind filling out this survey :) I am trying to see if what I heard is correct. What I heard is that if your status changes to in-process before you are asked for an interview, you probably won't have an interview. The more people that fill this out, the more well rounded the results will be. :)

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/N79DJW3

Once I have a larger number of responses, I'll post a nice little post with the results thus far.

Good luck to all of us in this immigration process!!

Could definitely be approval! No signature required and regular post used.

If the file number is inside the envelope you are just fine.
