ughhh I just sent in the PGR document on wednesday. Do you think they will ask for the SSP one now? I am planning on going to mexico city tomorrow for a day or so anyways so maybe we should just go and get it, in case they ask for it?

I would get it and submit it 'de una vez' - don't wait for them to ask for it. Based on Americana in T.O.'s experience, in all likelihood they'll ask for it and it's better for it to be in the record upfront so it's there when they review the PRG constancia also.

Well I guess we´ll go to the SSP tomorrow afternoon and drop it off at the embassy on tuesday morning ( I was going to go drop off some documents at the embassy for my uni on tuesday morning anyways!) So I guess we were lucky finding about this now!

No, he is in the States. He will send his relative to go and get it.

Oh okay, we'll please let us know how it goes. We are debating between going to Mexico city ourselves for the document or sending a relative in my SO's behalf based on how hard or easy it is for someone to obtain this document ..Thanks!

I'm just getting caught up on reading all these SSP posts and have a big knot in my stomach thinking all this translates into for our application is more waiting. Don't know if we should bother trying to get this document in advance or wait and see if they ask us for it. Our case is on such a different track than others on the thread, it is hard to know what to do.

I would wait and see. You just passed through extensive security screening. I highly doubt they'll delay cases very near the end. It would be chaos for them as well.

Just got off the phone with San Luis potosi For my SO's birth certificate.. It's going to take them TWO months to send it to canada, and 100 dollars for a 25 peso document..lol, oh my.

That's a tough call. But the good news is that if you do need this document, it can be gotten on the same day (in D.F.).

None of his family lives there anymore, unfortunately... we may have come up with a solution but were just waiting to see if it's actually possible.. Fingers crossed!

And as canadiangirl says, the extensive background check is done. One would think another police certificate at this point would be redundant.

Well my PGR document isn't ready yet :/ I'll have to call tomorrow and hand it in on Wednesday. Ugh.

Also I went to get my constancia de no antecedentes penales from the SSP. It was pretty easy, they only require a copy of your IFE and copy of your birth certificate, no proof of address needed. There was a huge line outside the building, but we went in within a few minutes, once inside they take your documents and you sit in a room with like 40 other people I honestly thought I was gonna spend the whole afternoon there, but they hand them in at the speed of light! it's literally a name every 3 seconds, they got two people doing the equivalent of a Google Search lol and another guy signing them. So I was done within 5 minutes!

I also asked what you guys told me to, and the lady said that you can only get this document there :/ It doesn't matter if you live in another state/country. That sucks!
