Thanks for the answer rhcohen2014. Actually my wife is from Indonesia but she applied through Singapore because this office serves all sponsorship applications coming from her country. So according to you SVO only sends passports back to the original country of the applicants? :-X Anyone knows if it is possible to send documents through DHL/UPS with a prepaid envelope inside to a different country/address from it was originally sent? Thanks

I received PPR request yesterday as well as a procedural fairness letter asking me to give credible evidence of my intention to reside in Canada. It's a very long and detailed letter asking for credible evidence of establishing ourselves in Canada and severing our ties to HK.
Although I have quite a lot of proofs like disposing of our house two months ago, setting up an account in Canada and some quotation on movers company and pet's movers as well. I am still worried these may not be enough. Any ideas what else to give? Pls help.

do you have family in canada that can write you letters expressing their willingness to help get you on your feet? also, any research on job industries, communities, housing, realtors, etc. i think will work... you can write a letter stating you've done all this research and what your initial plans are for when you arrive.

good luck!

I am sure I saw 1 or 2 persons going through the Singapore office who got PPR in Canada while here on a TRV. Definitely one of them commented positively regarding the service of UPS delivering the passport to Canada address. Can't say for certain they used prepaid envelope to do this or if they contacted Singapore with intructions. Either way, passport was sent to Canada, mind you, I don't remember how long ago I saw this.

Thanks for your comments.
Yes, we will be staying with my husband's uncle (for as long as we like)before we are able to find a house and I have got him to write a letter to the IO. My husband actually had a job offered in Canada and we sent it in with the application but the IO is not satisfied with that. I will try my best and gather more info and hope we will get COPR soon.

Congratulations to those of you who have received in process and PPR! ;D

I was thinking how this summer went by pretty fast. Spring was terrible...long long waiting for SA. But for the most part, it has been smooth sailing since. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

And thanks O_guy for maintaining the spreadsheet.

the ppr will come by email most likely. generally visa offices won't mail the passport out of the country they are in, so your wife will need to have a family member send it to her in canada if she's already here.

This is based on a guess, not reality. Here is the reality:

My spouse received her passport last night (Aug 25th), we'll be doing flag-poling this weekend at Qeenston Lewiston. CIC Beijing did not use the DHL waybill we provided when applied, so there is no way for us to track the package, nonetheless it arrived safely last night ;D Another pleasant surprise was we did not actually have to pay the return courier bill, thanks CIC!

In addition to tworegtdi's experience, the Manila VO responded to my email and said providing an address in the Philippines is not necessary and that the Canadian address provided on Appendix A is where they are mailing my wife's passport.

So clearly, VOs send passport out of the country they are in. It depends on what address you put on your Appendix A.
