So just as an update, we're still waiting for our SA. It's now been 15 days since our AOR, 41 days since CIC really received it(as per tracking), and we still haven't heard back from CIC. We have called them, and they told us that it could take up to May/June to verify that I am not on welfare. If we don't get something back relatively soon here, we're going to be contacting our MP and MLA as this is pretty ridiculous at this point. We haven't received any requests for information, nothing from CIC. Even when we call, we get inconsistent answers. Some say "it should be there by Friday, if not call us" while others say "call back in May or June if you haven't heard anything." Overall, this is getting really frustrating.

That's really ridiculous! They can't keep people's lives on hold like this..

Honestly, we're okay with waiting for immigration to process. We had resigned ourselves to it taking quite a while, but we hadn't expected our sponsor approval to be the stumbling point. What's really frustrating is we just want it to get transferred so we can settle in for a long wait.

That's precisely my concern as well..

I'm okay waiting as long as it gets to the damn Visa Office.
You know then you've done whatever you need to. But getting stuck in the Sponsorship approval means the process hasn't even started properly which is a total pain.

Call them. I haven't received a letter or anything (though they said they mailed one). When I called they were able to tell me I was approved and file was transfered.

Ditto. I had the same situation. Called them and they told me the decision was made. The letter notification came 1 week later.

I would give it a couple more days. Call Thursday afternoon if you haven't heard anything by then.

Which Visa Office will you be processing through? I added you to the spreadsheet for March.

that's the same guy that recieved ours ! Four days till 28 days !

Wait, were we supposed to send it via registered mail? I mean did we require a signature on receipt?
I had a tracking number and knew when it arrived there, but didn't put in a 'signature required on receipt' option.

I was told not to do that.
Now I'm seeing everyone else has. Wondering if I should have done so.

we didn't do that either but Canada post after some days updated it , you click on view certificate and that's where we saw signed by bud Jamal

I didn't get a signature either, I mailed mine to the PO box.

Hopefully within 28 days.
Sometimes longer
After 35 give them a call to check. (Or just get SA really quickly and never worry about it!)


They update this every week.
