it doesn't make sense why other applicants has a speedy process and yet we've submitted the application earlier than them. huhu.. it makes me worry.

Hopefully within 28 days.
Sometimes longer
After 35 give them a call to check. (Or just get SA really quickly and never worry about it!)

They update this every week.

Where can I find the right phone number to call or email address to send email?

exactly why we are upset ! It should be first come first serve, except in a really complicated case. I can't even tell how things work , looks like they pick randomly

Lets hope for the best! Worries doesn't help us accomplish anything.

I would bet money that they have a rankings system. Each pack probably gets an initial viewing, which tells them roughly how easy/complex it is, and then it's moved along to the next person.
Ones requiring a second look by a more senior person might take longer, others take less time.
And if one visa officer is off sick one day, maybe his/her queue gets held up a couple of days, while others go through.
They're only human in the end. I wouldn't fret about an extra week here or there. We're mostly talking about a few short months, compared to the entirety of our lives we'll be spending with our loved ones in our adopted country.

I sent mine in the mail March 26th and have not heard back yet. I'm sponsoring my wife I sent the file to Mississauga, then once approved it will goto Bogota. Is it normal I have not heard anything back yet?

thank you!

A few short months for the Sydney office, maybe.. Some visa offices take 1 1/2 years or more.

Yes, it normally takes about 30 days.

Did you have tracking on your package? Do you know which day CIC actually received it?

I used Canada post and sent it to CPC Mississauga P.O. Box 3000, Station A Mississauga, ON L5A 4N6, Just to verify, this is the right address right?

Yes it is. Your March 14th receive date is probably accurate.
The same person picked up mine too.

Give them a call Thursday if you don't hear anything.
Unfortunately I don't have the phone number myself, but it is kicking around on these threads somewhere.
I'm praying I never need to call them

that's the same guy that recieved ours ! Four days till 28 days !

OMG!!! Bud Jamel is the same person who received my application as well. Hopefully he put it to a safe place. I think Bud Jamel is just a receptionist and not a CIC Officer who works on our application.

My application was received on March 26th, so I am hoping to receive an email next week for AOR and SA.

Your time period is still within the given processing time and hopefully you will hear something from them soon. I will call them on Thursday if I don't hear anything.

He seems to be the one who picks up the mail from the PO Box anyway.
I would love to be a fly on the wall so I could tell all of you what the real process with the applications is.

I'm still imagining a giant wheel with our names/applications on it.

You know.. maybe those "missing documents" fly out when they're spinning it too fast.

In reality I hope each person gets a small stack to go through and some are faster than others.

Anyone know someone on the inside?

(Sorry if I am making anyone paranoid. It's not my intention. I just want all of you to speed through to your Visa offices so someone is free to work on mine!)

Wait, were we supposed to send it via registered mail? I mean did we require a signature on receipt?
I had a tracking number and knew when it arrived there, but didn't put in a 'signature required on receipt' option.

I was told not to do that.
Now I'm seeing everyone else has. Wondering if I should have done so.

I didn't either. I'm sure there is not much difference...they should all end up in the same office.
