When the request the passport do you think they continue assessing your application during that time? Or do they shelf it until they get your passport?

As anything else...I think it depends on the VO...

Mind you, on second thought, I think that'd be too efficient, so probably not.

Well I am not even going to go off on a rant about how much things like the November app being able to jump the que piss me off. *(*(&$*@&$&*&$@*&$!!!!!!! No foul to the applicant (unless there was a shady deal there) but definitely a bit of hate towards CIC, for not keeping things in order.

Here's a Q -

When the request the passport do you think they continue assessing your application during that time? Or do they shelf it until they get your passport?

How long does it take for a passport to arrive at a VO? 3 weeks max. So they can anticipate within a week whether a request will be made or not.
Don't forget that all these applications are supposed to be prescreened for completeness. We are supposed to send in the list for all the documents required. How long does it take to make the documents to a list and then stamp it complete?

I would doubt they process while they are waiting. It seems the old "ball is in your court" rule. As long as THEY are waiting for YOU then they can let the process drag. Why else do people find out months later that CIC has had them on hold waiting for a response to a letter that was never received? If they were still working on the app and were proactive don't you think they would figure they should contact you again?

As for the Feb guy, I am still convinced he probably forgot to include the photocopy of page 1 of the passport. So of course they see its missing and ask for it. He interprets that as a PPR and sends the whole passport. As I recall he was not asked for the AOM or most of the other things normally asked for with the PPR. I could be wrong, but I hope not cause then I'd be even more annoyed with CIC.

that person in Feb has got it wrong.... 14 days impossible.....anyways I see they are moving faster since Mississauga is under 30 days now... the only thing I don,t understand is why are some people waiting for over 180 days and others are under that... from what I was reading on the CEM web site,is that they process the applications as they come in....and are marked in Mississauga saying this application can move forward faster... or they do not look at this spread sheet... anyways alot are due from Sept before some Aug applications... just hope we are all going to move fast I expect to hear from the CEM the week of April 15th same as Canadian Jeep Guy....they took our money fast... hey I even had to do the short form on IMM0008 remove dependents... but I bet no faster... lets just hang in I know I,ll be so FU&&&&g happy when this is all over.... I bet you will too!!!!!

I was told by the MLA to check back in a month...a bloody month! And she has the nerve to tell me that they have so many files to process and some have been in the system for years. Should I feel sad for them??? I told her that applications are still getting completed well under 12 months so why isn't mine one of them? There is no special circumstance in my case. Its an easy application.

I'm in the mood to stir up some trouble now.

No idea about the email, sorry. But I am sure your spouse will let you know ASAP as soon as they find out

But about the 187 day average, all I can say is crap!! we are at day 195! But in all honesty that isn't that far off the average, to early to worry yet, although that won't stop me form complaining about it let's hope that you are correct with that number though, every bit of encouraging news is greatly appreciated!
