I had you added from the November sheet but that was before you were approved. Could you either let me know your sponsorship approval date or fill it in yourself please?
They said it was today.. who knows if that's the 21 or 22?

Welcome!
1. My application was processed fast. See my timeline. But I doubt it was because I am Japanese. I feel it was just pure luck. However, since we are likely not required to send passport, I would say this much it may get faster. But VO will send CoPR via DHL, this may take time (my CoPR was sitting in the VO for almost 2 weeks).

Hmm, so our application has just been forwarded to Manila today. We have already paid the full fees and Manila already has her medical. We are planning on flying to Canada at the very beginning of April. Sorry, but I am not sure what you mean about the passport. Will Manila just send a paper or something that can be exchanged for a visa? if we get the visa sent to Canada than can we just cross the border and have come back as a landed immigrant?? Sorry, I spent all my time so far just trying to get the paperwork in order and haven't looked to deeply into what happens next!!

Applicants from visa exempt country are usually not requested to submit their passport. But I have seen some from other VOs who are from visa exempt countries but requested to send their passports. I have not seen this case at Manila VO as there have not been many Japanese in this forum. If passport is not requested, they will only send CoPR, a sheet of paper, to her. With that paper she can land, crossing the boarder or flagpoling. I did flagpoling the day I received my CoPR.

If you are returning to Canada at the beginning of April, chance of approval by then may not be high.... but who knows?

Flagpoling is just crossing the border and coming right back?? That s what we are planning to do as well. i guess maybe to be safe we should change our mailing address to Canada a week or 10-days before we leave since we wouldn't want to miss the package if it is sent here. Thanks for all your help by the way. How are you enjoying Winterpeg? I thought it best to move back after the worst part of winter was over. ;)

It's a sacred Canadian tradition of initiating newcomers. I hate to ruin the surprise.

Hello, Experiencing another snow storm here. I was wondering if someone could help me. I was looking at the goole docs trying to determine the processing times. I live in Quebec and my wife is in Makati City, Philippines. Her PPR date is 4 Jan. 2013. She was asked by the Visa Office in Manila to update her pictures, fill out a form, provide a copy of her CSQ..Quebec Selection certificate. her Medical Certificate Everything was done and sent 7 Jan. When can she expect to have her visa. I think it might be in 2 months from PPR date. We are planning a going away party at the Saint Andrews Parish where she worked. I would like to be there before she gets her visa so planning this will take time. I will get openable tickets for the flight to Canada for us if necessary. Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Everyone is different BUT . . . less than one month ago we got 'DM' from CEM exactly one month after PPR (and submitted day or two later), and then VISA three days after that. Hopefully, yours will be just as efficient.

For the last 12 months you are looking at a fastest time of 8 days, a longest time of 195 days, and an average of 52 days according to the Manila VO sheet.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtCLbbZupkY_dHJRT2R1alhXS2xaUzFTcHZsTUhVbHc#gid=0

If you use all the data, which includes some outstanding 2011 apps, the average increases to 72 days and the maximum to 474 days.

It is a pretty large spread and really depends on the difficulty of your app and a certain amount of luck.

Thank you SCOS for your input. We are all praying that all goes well. The story I heard is the Visa Office in Manila is working hard to get as many people through as possible.
I like that story! That's a good bedtime story :D Where did you hear it?
