It probably depends on the purpose of your email. They responded to me as well when I reported a change in my spouse's contact information.

I've sent 3 to the Inquiry one and just get the autoreply. Any email I send them I also copy my MP and the Minister.

I've been there twice. It was a wasted trip.

It's annoying enough to see everything processed by SA date instead off application date. But ok, that's the way they are doing it so I guess we go near the bottom of the pile. But at least there is a queue. But then when the current SA dates they are processing gets up to my date, they change to processing based on medical expiry. And since my wife's expired long ago I guess we get tossed to the bottom of the pile yet again. Thank you CIC. At this rate they will be doing this year's apps before we get a remed request.

Can't wait for the next election...

Ok so for those of us trying to keep score at home here, what is the latest theory on how they are processing the applications? From what I have been seeing there seems to be around a 9 month average based on the application submitted date, but now I am seeing the medical date, and SA (what is that exactly) date thrown about as well.

Personally I would of naively assumed the submitted date, but then that would require a bit of common sense, and we all know that that just isn't on.

SA date is the Sponsor Approval date. That was what seemed to be used up until a few weeks ago. The latest method seems to be processing anyone whose medicals are close to expiry, which means you are screwed if they have already expired.

I just ordered my GCMS notes in the vain hope that the requirement to respond to the request will force them to "touch" my wife's file and maybe do something with it.

The submitted date would have been the fair way to do it. So you know they won't do that.

Thanks scos, SA was what I thought it would be, well if they go by medical expiry, (which is August for my wife and I) that puts us right at 11 months, still within that 12 month window (provided they don't change the waiting period again!).

Oh well, back to sitting and a sucking on it, 7 months today, several more to go by the looks of things

WHEN YOU REACH YOUR ( BEST BEFORE DATE) LOL YOUR 12 MONTHS IN MANILA YOU CAN START PUMPING THE EMAILS LIKE I WILL IF I DONT GET SOME SATISFACTION IN THE COMING WEEKS, ILL JUST ASK A DIFFERENT QUESTION EVERY DAY, AND FOR SURE ONCE MY WIFE REACHES CANADA SOIL IM SURE THEY WILL GET SOME EMAILS WITH LOTS OF CENSORED WORDS. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Whatever they do it is inconsistent.

Yesterday the agent at the call centre was helpful for lodigng my complaint request to be contacted to the complaint guy. He called me up to say that you have to contact CEM...but how? Any email you send is ignored. I asked him if he had an email address specific to complaints and he said yes then sent me a link to the CIC website that lead you nowhere but back to Ecas. I told him that all he did was what I do every day and that he is no better trained in his job then I am. Then the fight began. So now I have sent another email off to Manila and copied both my MP and Jason Kenney.

All I wanted to do was ask why they are not extending medicals when they have the authority to do so? Is this a part of their job action? I should not be expected to pay more for the same service that others get. Currently the attitude is: Your application will go faster if you pay us more. Thats extortion.

I just want to start our lives.....but rest assured that after the process is done I'll go through the proper channels to voice my concerns/complaints.

Tagum....I'm sorry to say this, but if your stated methodology for getting results is true.....I'd push your file to the back of the line too. I hope your just venting.

I quess they are directiong us purposely to send our inquires to a email that is not manned, when the real way to contact them is the email above, they know most inquiries are from unsatisfied customers and they dont want to read them. thanks for this email address, im sure CEM is not going to like you for passing this around, they will probably have sommeone come by your way and your rooster will have no head.

When you sent your application in, my application was sitting in manila for over 5 months, the average time it took to get a visa then, now add on the time you have waited, you will have my total time. I sat patiently until dec 4,2012 when i read they were adding months onto the wait time, where did that get me, expired medical, nothing, and for those people to tell my MP that they were waiting for my AOM that they requested 10 mionths prior and never bothered to make a 2nd request wwwwwwwwwwooow. ENUF ON THAT IM SURE THERE IS SEVERAL MEMBERS AT CEM WHO WOULD LIKE TO TAKE YOU UP ON THAT, EXPECT A SECRET EMAIL SENT TO YOU
