I think the 120 days period of time starting from the PER date + 1 month for app delivery at VO

I may be wrong, but I believe the 120 days referred to is from the LVO FAQ page. Am I right or is there something else? I'm not sure that it fits the circumstances:

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/faq.aspx

"I have submitted the documents that you asked for. Why haven't I heard from you yet? "
"Due to the large amount of documents received at our office, it may take 4 months or more for incoming documents to be reviewed and for the next step to be taken in your immigration application. Please do not contact the office for at least 120 days after you have submitted new information as repeated letters and e-mails only slow the process."

Please do not contact the office for at least 120 days after you have submitted new information..........

does this mean we cannot contact in general after 120 days?

It doesn't say that, but it would seem reasonable. Personally I don't think it implies anything must happen within 120 days of receiving our file though, though I obviously hope things do happen quickly.

We can contact LVO after 120 days of receiving our file to get any update or progress report. I believe we could also contact them before the 120 days if we have to update them with issues regarding change of job, change of contact details (email address, home address), birth of a new born etc.

Hi Friends,
As per my experience, regardless of any time limit I received reply of my quaries from LVO all times since May 2011. Even last year they asked for some new docs and after 1 week of posting I contacted them about receival of my mail they replied and confirmed that they received all requested docs. I found them always helpful.

Hello,
Nice question, as per I know there is applicant in LVO who are waiting since 2006. I don't know why!!! May be because it is under LVO......

lol, 2006, you have to be kidding me.

so 2 options, 1) either they are going to prioritise 2013 applicants. or 2) they are going to process the backlog first then process us. can you imagine years and years.

There can be no processing of backlog from 2006 fswp. Here is an extract from CIC:

source http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/notice-returns.asp

Notice – Update on Fee Returns for Federal Skilled Worker applicants affected by the backlog elimination
October 18, 2013

Over the past year, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has been returning fees paid to the Department for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) applications terminated as a result of the Government of Canada’s Jobs, Growth and Long-Term Prosperity Act.

If you applied before February 27, 2008, and have not heard from CIC about whether a decision based on FSW program selection criteria (*see below) was made on your application, you may be affected by this law.

If you fall under this category, CIC needs to verify your contact information is up to date so that your fee return will reach you at your current address. Please note that interest will not be paid on the fees.

Please confirm your latest contact details by sending CIC this form (PDF, 1.4 MB). Communicating with us electronically is the best and easiest way to have your fee return processed.

Due to the large number of affected applicants, the fee return process may take some time. We expect most people will receive their fees back within six months, but there may be possible delays in cases where applicants are located in countries with international banking restrictions. We appreciate your patience.

Your FSW application has been terminated by operation of law if:

you applied before February 27, 2008, and
a decision based on FSW program selection criteria* was not made on your application by an immigration officer before March 29, 2012.

(*A “FSW program selection criteria” decision means that a CIC officer has determined that you have accumulated enough points to qualify for the program, based on factors such as your language skills, education and work experience.)

If you remain interested in immigrating to Canada, you may be eligible under other immigration programs. To find out more about the requirements and steps to apply in each category, please see Immigrating to Canada.

Ok, well I guess for us thats good news but there could still be a back log from some 2007 applications.

So when should we be expecting the GCMS notes from the LVO, thank you

2007 fswp won't be processed if a decision was not made before March 29th, 2012.
