were looking into him coming the second week in October . I have a Condo on bottom road that I want him to try to rent out before he leaves but if he can't I will just have to get a real estate agent to assist, I just felt more comfortable Renting it out to someone either my husband or I have met . And sorry I misunderstood it is conjugal relationships the year.. ALSo ALL WOMEN/MEN SPONSORING THERE SPOUSE MAKE SURE IF YOU ASSISTED YOUR SPOUSE ON HIS PR APPLICATION THAT HE READS IT ALL THOROUGHLY AS KINGSTON IS DOING PHONE INTERVIEWS NOW TO HELP DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT THEY WILL WAIVE THE INTERVIEW .. I am sure it is not done in all cases but just make sure your spouse is prepared in case he does receive a phone call from the embassy to confirm some questions ., my husbands best friend got his call from KINGSTON yesterday and now he is all stressed out worried there is gonna be a problem as he stated the reason her child doesn't live with her was because children's aid apprehended the child from the fathers house , when this isn't what is written in his application . In fact his wife wrote that she didn't know the child's father .. They ended the conversation telling him they would consider whether or not to waive a interview .he said he was caught off guard because he didn't know they would call and ask questions on the phone which hopefully doesn't effect there case negatively.. SO BE PREPARED IN CASE YOU ARE PHONED AND THEY CALL FROM A UNKNOWN NUMBER SO IF YOU USUALLY DONT ANDWER UNKNOWN OR PRIVATE NUMBERS IT IS ESSENTIAL TO ANSWRT THEM WHILE GOING THROUGJ THE IMMIGRATION PROCESS
paula t thanks for the heads up, well i am glad i did my application, i also did wifey.

I hope they call and ask me these questions, I have nothing to hide and my hubby knows everything about me and vice versa.
Im sorry to hear they are having such a hard time tho.
I do know CAN and USA share info, but no concern to me, I wouldnt leave out anything misleading on our application, I know Canada is strict and they can find out info, not worth the risk to me.

good morning! just a random statement. But there are always trolls lurking about. :p I try and not bite when they provoke but I guess I get my frustrations out too. I am not saying there is here...but on other threads. And in the past this one has had a few. What is wrong with ppl to sink to that level of hurting and provoking emotions that are we hold dear to ourselves. As for me I cannot wait to say add me to sheet. 5 more weeks or so.

lets continue to be nice; as we are on this journey together and support thru good and not so good days, as we will become family joined thru our mutually shared goal of reuniting with our loved ones.

wishing u a beauty of a day.
I agree!!

Yep it's true and that's why I disclosed everything , whether good or bad if you lie or they see misleading info your doomed .. In my husbands friends case I feel so sorry for them because I do know that there relationship is genuine . And worse he knew the answers to the questions but his mind seized and he answered wrong .. I told him that once you lie or fail to disclosure only God can help .. It's unfortunate the slightest thing could be considered misreprentation and when it's a honest mistake it's worse ...I'm just gonna pray for them that somehow the VO looks past this for them because I know it's particularly hard on her since her husband can't get work there , he has a grade 8 education , which I also think could cause them to stereotype ...

And does anyone know if you can appeal a misrepresenting decision, they asked me but I don't know I haven't been on this situation ...

same, he knows everything about me. Thousands of hours and dollars lol in phone calls. In the beginning oml my phone bill in long distance, now he calls me, its far cheaper. I have been very forthright in the narrative I am submitting. Nothing to hide.

we are not worried either. In fact, if they interview him, this will be an opportunity to verbally express the genuine relationship that we have. We did our best to document..

Glad to be now aware that snap phone interviews are a distinct possibility at any stage. Hubby and I will definately make sure to answer all calls private, no caller id, unknown or otherwise.

this is the first i`ve heard of having to be in a relationship for a year in order to sponsor as well. i have a co-worker she married her husband from Trinidad after 6 months of knowing him and sponsored him and he landed last year.

ive known my husband a year and a half and we married after 12 months, and visited him 3 times. im hoping the length of time does not show the genuineness of a relationship cause then i would just have no faith in this process.
So in regards to Paulas post concerning rela and under a year... What it is is that there is no standard of being in a rela for a year or more however, immigration does scrutinize rela more when they are under 2 years. Jus for the case of proving longetivity of a rela is harder when the amount of time spent together is shorter. With that being said no one can really knw the outcome of ones case, whether it will b morw scrutinized than others, however, it has been stated in multiple forums as well as the immi guidebook for spousal sponsorships that relas under 2years should be more keenly reviewed. But keep in mind that immi does process by a case by case basis. Hope this helps! ;D and a speedy process to all!??

@ Paula-T...If it is not going too much into your hubby's friends biz and if u do know...can u share with us at what point your hubby's friend is with his application..meaning, did he send in a few months ago, in process, asked to bring in docs, has he sent in or has been asked to pay his RPRF, send in pp pics etc...initial review? Just wanted an idea thanks.....
and to be more specific I asked them and they said they sent to Mississauga End of November 2014.... And it began processing in Kingston Feb 28.,. They did medicals and Police check
And paid all fees upfront , which is also the same thing I did .. And they went through 3 queries ... Sent in a good amount of pictures (75+), letters from family , digicel top
Up receipts from digicel online top ups ... It brought tears to my eyes earlier when I was thinking how much worse there situation is and here I was here once worried about my case .. I am praying for them and hope they get a chance to have a in person interview if not a PPR... I can't imagine if they called you unexpected and ask you just 4-6 questions and you weren't correct in them you would have the ability to have a in person interview ...
It's difficult for them but I don't have answers And I can't find any into on Kingston even calling people from the embassy let alone figure out why ... I have just assisted them to order there CAIPS notes so if there are any issues they will know what it is and how to address it ... Hopefully there notes come cause mine didn't

The calling interview isnt a new thing tho, its normal and has happened alot. Maybe its just becoming more often lately or we are just hearing about it more since we may know more people going thru the process as well. Either way I welcome the call.
I think panic can set in and being put on the spot may cause some people to be nervous and say the wrong thing by not explaining properly but they could explain it better in an interview to an officer face to face, but to have completely opposite information from your spouse isnt going to look good. Paula, hopefully your friends can explain that if they get an interview.
Im sure they would have concerns due to her job choice (im not judging at all), but thats how they are down here. One tattoo makes them think you are a gangster. You never know how these visa people think.
Good luck to them.

I know two couples that weren't together that long before getting married. Not sure how long but not years that's for sure. Both their husbands are here and both had fairly easy immigrations.. It's absolutely case by case so don't worry too much about it.

Dont worry, Cece wasnt trying to be negative, its just that they are harder on couples married under 2 years, but dont worry, doesnt mean he wont come! Just make sure you have all your proof in case they ask. But that goes for us all.
If you are married under 2 years and dont have children you may have Condition 51, but to me, it shouldnt be a problem to live with your spouse for two years. Ive seen some threads on this forum about ppl complaining about condition 51, but Im not sure why. Id love to live with my husband! Id never complain about having to!

I don't think it's about being married for less than two years. Most people who file are only married breifly before filing. I was married 10 months before filing but that's because everything was so expensive and we had bought a house adding to our financial strain. We had been together for 6 years but only married 10 months.

My mom and her husband who has been here now for 4 years were only married a month prior to filing and he landed 10 months later. They had been together for 6 years prior to their wedding

One of the couples I spoke about before had only been together for less than a year before their wedding and filed after a month of marriage. He landed after 7 months.

Another couple I know we're only together 6 months prior to their wedding then took an additional 9 months to file I believe.. He landed after 14 Months but they filed during the strike a couple years ago.

As long as you show your commitment to each other and can proof a genuine relationship you should be fine.

However, what do I know, I'm pregnant, have been with my husband for 6.5 years, we own a home together, had many guests fly in from Canada, Hong Kong etc for our wedding and he's not here yet (in fact he is getting an interview according to our case notes) so there's no way to be sure what couple they pick to scrutinize.. It's a coin toss. Probably depends who looks at your file and how they feel about their own life that day.

@shorty I know that's what I told my husbands friend and wife I told them straight up that her husband messed up when they called and the fact she was a exotic dancer would of course make Cic scrutinize there application from the start ... I know there very judgemental at the embassy and there not suppose to be but I think it happens in so many cases ... I feel a little better knowing that they do call at times though as I thought it was unheard of ...this whole process is unfair but there is nothing I can do to help
