Wow. I enjoyed reading all the love stories. How mushy! I met my husband on a summer vacation to Canada 8 years ago. I remember going to a camp organised by a cousin of mine and woke up to the most lovely voice in the kitchen who was asking my cousin how he wanted his eggs done. I thought I better got out of bed to meet this person and i saw a very tall handsome young man who my cousin introduced me to. He made NA breakfast - eggs, pancake, and bacon etc. We had breakfast together and as I was leaving that day, I heard someone running behind me and he asked me if he could have my email address. We exchanged email address and to date, 8.5 years after, I still have his on the envelope he wrote his. About a month later, I got an email from him reminding me who he was and that we had breakfast together even though briefly. I asked him how was the weather and he said it was very lovely (Fall) but he said he could bet I was even more lovelier! A few weeks after he asked me for my tel. no. but I didn't want to appear too accommodating especially as it was very early days, so I hesitated but eventually I did as he wasn't that pleased about my not giving it to him. We spoke twice/daily on the phone - first thing as I woke up and last thing before going to bed. By the following month it was my birthday and he called and sang happy birthday to me. As things seemed to have been heating up, I decided I needed to introduce him to my mom on the phone. She asked him if he was in love with her daughter and he said, "I'm smitten by her!". She of course could hardly understand his Cdn accent but I figured by the tone of his voice she felt that he had said some sweet words as they brought a smile to her face. We could not contain our feelings and by Dec of that same year I returned to Canada on Boxing Day to spend the rest of the Christmas holidays with him. It was a Dec. to remember! Having only seen him once, even though there were pics, I wasn't sure what to expect at the airport but while I waited I felt a tap on my shoulder and without looking at the person, a voice asked, "excuse me mam, what time is it?". As I turned around to look at my watch, my brain told me to look at the face! As I turned around again I saw an even more handsome man all dressed in black glasses and black suit (he was coming from church) and I called his name in a questioning manner and he said yes and smiled, and we just hugged. Our relationship blossomed over the years and I visited annually, but I was not able to migrate at the time and he wasn't all keen in leaving Canada at the time. However, 4 years later after we met, he decided if I really couldn't come to him then he would come to me! I was shocked but I guess that's what love does. So he relocated to Ja and shortly after we tied the knot. We have now decided however to live in Canada especially as I no longer have any ties to Ja. as before. And so the rest is history. I await my PR!
