Condolences to Anada and her family on their loss. It's good, truly, that she is going home to see her husband soon, it is very difficult for spouses to be apart at these times when we need to rally around each other for strength and encouragement.

FLK, I don't think you need to worry. It could be nothing more than the IO handling your file just needs a minute to catch up to the fact that he/she has everything they need to request your husband's passport. It is rough days lately for CIC offices with the backlogs they are trying to sort, including KG. I say, get yourself into a reunion frame of mind, and start planning around that day, even though you don't have a date for it yet. When you do get that call, you are going to be so excited and overwhelmed, you will be glad you put the plans in place and all you need to do now is buy a ticket!

Thanks CharlieD. And thanks for staying on and encouraging us long after you're case has been settled. I think I've cried more today just overwhelmed with the support here than I have in the last 11 months being frustrated with this process. It's hard when you're in love, and you know that person is who God created you to be with for the rest of your life and you can't fulfill that because of protocol and other people who have potentially made the system harder for us. I will take your advice and plan my welcome home plans for my hubby. I do long for that day and I trust God that it won't be much longer. You give me hope, thanks.

I have a question...

so my girl is gettin married in JA to one of my friends down there in October. They have asked me to be MOH. I am now looking at flights to go. Problem is, I found some amazing prices thru Delta but there is an overnight stay in Georgia. Now, first thing is, my hubby isn't here yet so I dont even know if I can book him a round trip flight. Second thing is if he is, and I book it now, can he even take the flight without first getting a US visit visa? How hard is it for him to attain one? And I am already 99% sure that we shouldn't apply for said visa until he has landed here right??? lawd help me... the canadian flights are $700 and the Delta flights are $450... HUGE difference!!!

You can book him the flight, but he won't be able to take it unless he has a US visit visa. Even though it is just a transit stop, all passengers are required to de-plane and clear US Customs and Immigration.

How hard it is to get depends on his travel history, his "ties" to Jamaica/Canada (depends which he will be applying from) that can be demonstrated and a number of other things.

No truer words spoken Blondie. May God grant us all the peace we need for today and also may he remove any obstacle that would try to hinder our ability to reunite with our families that His name may be glorified as we all attest to what He has done for us. Let us never forget the love of God as we go through this experience everyone, I know hadn't been for Him, I would not be keeping my sanity today.

Another morning without my husband, we continue our routine which normally consists of him calling me at the crack of dawn from beautiful Jamaica to let me how much he loves and misses me. :'( I will hear from him another 5 to 6 times throughout the day as he checks in to see how my day is going and we just keep connected. Then after my commute home, I will spend the majority of my evening on Skype with him until we both fall asleep. This is my life for now. Some days harder than the other. I pray today is good to me

I wish you all the best, I just came from seeing my hubby on Tuesday and Jamaica is as beautiful as I remembered.
