Let's see, I got the notes in December, meds and PCC re-do were requested at the end of February, so you could say they were ready for me about 2 months later, I guess. Actual visa was issued in April.

LOL, thanks Halfmoon. It's weird, yesterday I said to my husband, "I've been here almost a month!" and his reply was "Seems like you were always here, somehow" and I had to laugh at that because when he came to Jamaica for the first time, I had the exact same feeling. It was like he had always been part of my life, but he had been away on a long trip and was finally home.

You guys are in good hands here. You're among a bunch of people who not only understand your feelings, at some point they all experience them too! It makes for more than just understanding, there can be real empathy among the group. Not surprisingly, lots of people make good friends here, that they keep even after they don't need to be apart of the group. Add to that, you have folks who already passed down this road and keep coming back to encourage and to cheer you on. So, hang in there, and stick and stay!

Can I just share a group hug moment
Let me say this, I just joined today, thought I was strong enough to do this on my own, my husband is absolutely wonderful and we have our pity parties together at least once a week, but in just 3 hours, I really feel connected with people who truly get it. Thanks everyone for their time, advice and love. ONE LOVE ALL!

FLK, No problem!

I do recommend ordering your GCMS notes if you have passed the 6 months mark (at KG) with no word, which is when we ordered ours. We received them about a month after ordering them. After all the worry and anxiety I had expended (I was sure I would be called for an interview!), we found the notes were very bland, noted all the evidence we had presented and said nothing much else. There were a few notes on our relationship, like the fact that we had a lot of photos with various family members (my family is big on photos!) and several letters of support from family and friends.

Hey Luuk! Yes, I had a good Canada Day. Dressed up in a Team Canada t-shirt hubby bought me and drank my first Canadian Budweiser. Not giving away my Red Stripe for nothing, but it was fairly tolerable.

I also thought that maybe they would request an interview. My husband is a private person,and didn't feel like they should know too much personal stuff. However when they requested additional information from me, I sent as much as I could to establish that our relationship was real. We spent hours on the phone, but had no real record of that. However there were conversations on skype, messenger, emails, and text messages and I didnt hold back. . When I was finished printing, i had a whole pile. I guess that worked. We didn't have a lot of photos or letters.

Eeeks!! No woman no cryyyyy - focus not on being apart but rather to reflect on your future plans and enjoy the journey!! Before you know it, He'll be right there with you. You'll be picking up his socks, putting down the toilet seat, hehe kidding. Everything's gonna be alright....

Charlie I feel the exact same with my hubby. I feel like our souls have always been together our whole lives but were just physically apart until that first moment. He always says to me - his moods are determined by mine as if we are of one spirit. Last night we talked about our purpose together - how we're going to shake and move mountains. Building up communities and youths at risk. We're both so excited - he giggles everytime I say to him - get excited baby because the day is near!!

He said one bag of clothes and one bag packed with Yam, Ackee, Dasheen, breadfruit - I said baby, are you trying to open a super market up here?

blondie if you click on where it says application recieved it will bring you to another field that will tell you mediicals recived .... thats what i did
my girl said once that shows up it means its in the hands of kgn

Guys I'm worried something is not right with my application, because I'm looking at the posts and I can't understand why they have not requested my husbands passport as yet. I filed in August and got approved as sponsor in October with notification file was sent to Jamaica. Since then the notes on the CIC site has not changes, medical results received, application received August 4, 2011. I think I'm going to lose it :'(

Our relationship started as a result of someone playing matchmaker , and developed online even before we exchanged photos. At first we both just decided to be cordial to each other (of course we both didn't know this until we fell in love) out of respect for this person. He insisted that we contact each other online. Today, I'm happy we did..
