BG completed Aug 9. Test completed Aug 16. No updates since then. NGF office. Anyone having NGF office got any recent updates?
Seems like NGF is bit slow. My test was marked complete Sep 3 and on Sep 13, Language and Prohibitions completed (Montreal). i have seen some need 2 months after test for LPP to complete at same office. So maybe some officers are faster. Check the sheet for previous months- in notes many are listed NGF so do a search for NGF in sheet and see how long they took. I saw that some in Montreal got LPP in 10-15 days while others are needing 2 months or more. I have more than usual travel history so physical presence is stuck. Each case has something unique so difference is understandable. We are expecting lot more than previous candidates though, who took a year to complete. Its still fast. Hopefully you get soon

Updated. Don't worry about interview, but try to get an idea what it's for. Most likely they will just confirm it's you/your identity. Do you have lot of travel history.

Thanks. Will look out in the interview instructions email if they request any docs.

Not much travel history but: Received PR in 2016. Exited within a month after soft landing. Then entered Canada in 2020 Dec and stayed in Canada since then without foreign trips. Renewed PR card in 2023. Applied for citizenship in June 2024 when met eligibility.

2016 to 2020 sounds like a long wait. When did you do soft landing? Did you make sure you maintained PR?. I think hey might be checking more thoroughly for people who didnt immediately move. Also have to check if the person stayed in another country for 6 months , to verify if police certificate of that country is needed. The Canadian entry exit will records will not show which countries you lived in, if you did no move right away after PR.

Got it.
Soft landing was in April 2016. Got a renewed PR card in 2023 also did spousal/kids sponsorship in 2022 with PR status, so i think PR is maintained,
There was some travel once a year between 2016 to 2018. None of the travels exceeded 6 months.
No travel in the eligibility period from June 2019 to June 2024.

If you have stayed more than 3 years outside in a 5 year period starting 2016 when you soft landed then you did not meet residency requirement. Not saying that's the case for you. PR renewed does not mean PR status maintained. But I would double check. I have heard that if they renew PR then don't worry . But some others say it can be found later and one needs to give strong explanation. 2016 to 2020 sounds like you were out atleast 3 years if you landed last day of 2016 and entered first day of 2020

Update: Both myself and my wife received interview request with title "INVITATION TO AN INTERVIEW WITH A CITIZENSHIP OFFICIAL AND VERIFICATION OF IDENTITY/DOCUMENTS"
oin Oct 9th. also Asked for this "In order for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to continue the process of your
citizenship application, scanned copies or photos of all passport(s) and travel document(s) pages held
during your eligibility period are required. If you do not have a travel document or passport, please
provide an explanation."

Note: This time it names from Edmonton office (which is weird as we have MBSK before...)

Both has at the same time.

Do we have to take separate rooms or we can join together? We have four little kids that we may need to manage.

hmm, got it.
I learnt that residency will be checked at PR card renewal and that happend smoothly.
It will also be checked at sponsorship, which also went through. Now I have a valid PR card till 2028.

Eligibility for PR card is a rolling 5 year period. As long as one is inside Canada for 2 years within the 5 years preceding the PR card application, should be fine.

When i entered Canada in dec 2020, i underwent lot of questioning both at home country and Canada airport check-in counters. CBSA let me in after 2hrs wait. I thought that was the end of it.
I will keep the group posted with updates from the interview.

If it's a family application you can join together.
