Hello .

I am 23-June applicant, MR:14-Feb-2015

I see my ECAS status updated as " Decision made" from Inprocess. I had paid upfront RPRF in May.

How many weeks it will take to receive PPR after decision made?

Also is there any possibility to extend my wife PR Visa expiry tilll June-2016 as we are expecting baby in March-16 and she can't travel now.

I appreciate if anyone can advise ..
She should still be able to travel. Normally the cut off point is at 36 weeks. It would also make it easier for your newborn child as they would automatically become Canadian.

I travelled when I was 31 weeks pregnant.

So after the email yesterday asking for our address, and a call to the call centre where they said our file was still in process, we woke up this morning to the online status being changed to decision made.

Our timeline: app received 23 June 2014, AOR 8 August 2014, med req 13 February 2015, fee paid upfront in May.

Hopefully the COPR will be arriving in the next couple of weeks.
Did you get a passport request ?

Hey guys,

my status is now also showing Decision Made! ::) But still five lines.

Meanwhile I had sent an email describing my troubles and delay to Minister for Immigration John MacCallum. Yesterday afternoon I got a reply:

"Dear XYZ:

Thank you for your e-mail of November 5, 2015, addressed to the Honourable John McCallum, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, concerning your application for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class.

Our records confirm that your application was recently approved, and that officials at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa sent a Confirmation of Permanent Residence document to your address in XYZ, on November 18, 2015.

I hope that this information is helpful.

Sincerely,

XYZ
Ministerial Enquiries Division"

So I guess I can call myself a Permanent Resident soon!!! ;)

Whether my email to the Immigration Minister expedited the process I don't know, as a couple of June people are now seeing status updates. But I had also contacted my local MP in beginning of September and she got back to me that "background checks are in process".
On my latest GCMS notes, that I just received THIS monday, my criminality was still in progress and security not started. So this is really a very very recent update.

I wish all other June applicants that they will receive PPR and COPRs soon! This forum has helped me a lot through this progress.

Hi , May I know which country PCC requested on 10 th Feb 2015. Thanks for sharing the information.
Can we send an email directly to immigration Minister? do we need to contact local MP first before we go to Immigration minister?
I am June 9th applicant and contacted CIC with Conservative MP, But they informed to same message to MP. Not sure why background is taking more than 18 months in some cases it will get approved in 3 to 4 months Max?
is there any way we can get to know when the back ground check will be completed?
I send fax to CSIS but no response it been more than a month since I fax them.

The country is a VISA exempt country. Reason that they requested a PCC is because by mistake I had sent the certified copy of the PCC along with the certified translation and not the original PCC along with the certified translation with my my original application package. That's why they needed another ORIGINAL PCC with certified translation from my country of origin.

Yes you can send the email directly to the Minister for Immigration and you can do the same thing with your local MP. Note that now after the elections you might have a new local MP, so it could be worth it try again.

I actually don't think that the background checks are in fact taking that long. The bottleneck is that a VISA officer has to take a second review on the file and they have no staff to perform these reviews and so everything is delayed. "Background checks in progress" is a place holder for all kinds of things that are going on with your file.

Hello Everyone,

I have been reading everybody's comments for some time now. I don't think I ever been more stressed in my life, I have been waiting for an update for the past months!
I hope we all hear back soon. I wonder if processing applications for the Syrian Refugees has anything to do with the delay.

Here are my timelines:
1.Appl. Received: June 10, 2014.
2.Started processing Appl.: July 25, 2014.
3.Medical results have been received. February

I must say this forum gives me some hope...
Good luck everyone!

Hi, want to ask a question for people who received CoPR recently, what's the expiry date on your immigration visa (the date to do landing at the latest) ? It is true that the expiry date is usually one year after ME, in our cases, around Feb 2016?

I've asked this question a few times and it seems that it's exactly one year since CIC received your medical.
