I hear you! Even the June applicants are waiting. Not sure whatever the F they are doing and why it would take so long
Government workers want to earn money but don't want to work. Not all but 90% are like that only. I know this because my friend is working in the government department not in immigration but he is being forced to do time pass and work less. I applied on 5th July and got BIL and AIP but nothing after that not even a ghost update (Basically no false notification in my email I think that was a ghost update).

At least you got the AIP, for most of us its just AOR, BIL, IME which are not very useful for anything

Means they have not started your security screening. Try calling or writing a webform to find out what is going on ? Because it's interesting you did your biometrics but they have not started security screening.

I might be lucky on that front, but I have not received a medical request yet, so it will take longer later on. However, I haven't seen people getting actual updates in last couple of day otherwise march people were getting final decision lately.

One Q : What is the Difference in AIP and SA?

SA is the sponsor’s eligibility and AIP is the applicant’s. Not all get an SA email so AIP is all that matters. With the AIP, you can get health card depending on your province. But you are right, the time lines have no pattern, its all over the places depending on the visa officer. We got medical request before BIL and since Sept 15, no movements

PA: Inland (PGWP)
Submitted: July 06, 2024
AOR: Aug 01, 2024
BIL: Aug 02, 2024

Then, I also received an update on the GC key account, saying it was an Invitation to Pre-arrival services on 8 August 2024.

Then, I didn't receive an update for a couple of days, and in the meantime, I applied for a work permit on 18 August 2024 which was approved on 27th Sept 2024.

Then I received one mail with a letter and inside the letter was something like this on 20th Aug 2024 :

Date: August 20, 2024
UCI: XXXXXXXXXXX
Application: XXXXXXXXXXX - INLAND SCLP
PA Name & Address

This refers to the Application for Permanent Residence you made under the Spouse or Common-
Law Partner in Canada Class.

It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence
as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. Please note that a final
decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident
have been met. These requirements include medical, security, and background checks for you
and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not
applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you
and all your family members have met these requirements.
IMPORTANT: Passports for yourself and your family members must be valid for the duration of
your stay in Canada. If you or your family member(s) have updated your passport, please submit
a copy of your new passport as soon as possible.

.....
.....

I am not sure what is this letter about, Can someone please help to understand what is this letter about and what will be the next step?

What is more, I see my Eligibility and biometric is done on the application status checker Medical has not started and the Background check is in progress.
Good day sir, this is the principal applicant approval letter. This means you have met the requirements for being eligible to be sponsored. this is good as eligibility is second after background checks to take the longest to complete

Hello, I am a principal applicant under common law partner application for permanent residency. Currently I am working on PGWP and its expiring in January 2025. I want to apply for Open work permit. When I filled out the questionnaire on IRCC, it gave me the forms IMM5710 $ 5257.

1. Are those 2 forms the correct forms based on my conditions and scenarios.
2. If yes, under form IMM5710, point 3, it is asking to choose one or more option where options are
- Applying under same employer
- Applying for first time or with new employer
- Restore status as Worker
- Temporary resident permit(only if inadmissible to Canada)
which of these options will be suitable for me? Currently I am a full time employee and will continue to work with same company. But if I choose this option, will it still be OWP?

Please let me know which options are applicable to me and if I am looking at right forms or not.

Also, any other suggestions are appreciated about form 5710.

Thanks in advance.

If you are planning to continue working for the same employer, select the first option. Otherwise, select the second option. I don't know if it will make a difference since they will review the application following the OWP for Sponsored Spouses public policy.

Is it worth requesting for GCMS notes? If yes, is there any pre-requisite for it? I was thinking to request for Work permit and also Inland spousal visa, as its been around 4 months.

There's no pre-requisite. Any Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person currently residing in Canada can request them. Canadian citizens and permanent residents have the *right* to receive the ATIP information, so I would recommend the sponsor submit the request with a completed and signed consent form from the PA.

However, I think you're unlikely to learn anything new and significant unless you know that they are having problems with your application (e.g., you received an ADR or PFL, or your application file got transferred to another VO for further assessment).

I ordered GCMS notes for my husband's application (he is the PA, and I am the sponsor). We were getting impatient because our eligibility had not started (we applied in early June; it still hasn't started as of today, Nov 12). The only things we learned were that my husband had passed criminality and info sharing with the US was in progress.
