Thanks guys! They request the passport early but I've heard they keep them for 3-4 months... So hopefully wife won't have to do any travel during that time. Let's see how long the next stage will take.. I'm assuming I'm at the half way mark of the wait.aerogurl87 said:

I don't think you should tell them you're engaged unless you plan to get married very soon. I've heard horror stories about people telling them they are engaged while applying as common law. Only to have CIC put their application aside until they get married. Plus being engaged isn't a marital status, so I wouldn't tell them. Is says they had recieved the application july 19 and that tjey have sent a letter regarding the decision made latst august 28 .. But we have not recieved any letter niether via mail or email..motorcyclerider said:

Since it is has been more than a month that they have sent the letter, you can call them and ask them to resend a new one, or an email if possible.
