Hello westpoint/explorer,

Can we also have the name of the consultants (if applicable) in the spreadsheet? That way, we know if a consultant is bad when the applicant did not make it through to the app processing. This should ring warning bells for all those who want to use consultant and the one quick look at the spreadsheet will atleast give an idea on the consultant performance.

Hi friends,

Those who applied through consultancy, would you like to tell us the name of the consultancy service you have used? Would you all agree with my above suggestion.

[size=10pt][size=10pt][size=10pt]congratulations to those whose cc/bd has been negotiated, and of course to EXPLORER976 too!!! I see yours has been encashed as well, goodluck!!! :D :D :D

re: xnista and alerezai, kindly send in the missing details. pls check on the spreadsheet the missing info. thanks a lot.

re: additional info on agency name, sure y not? it can easily be added, if u like we can put extra column for comment on agency if they're performing good or not as well as how much they charge, just send in the name of ur agency and i will incorporate it.

question: for Manila applicants, is there an existing manila vo specific checklist? (mvosc) I had been searching for it and I think, from my readings and understanding, there exists none anymore? only the document checklist or 5612 form w/c is 6 pages, pls correct me if im wrong...before July 2011 yes there was MVOSC but for July 2011, no more...

hi,

there is no extra checklist for Manila VO, it has been merged into CIO Checklist.

ONLY Beijing and Hong Kong VO have slight changes as per their VO requirements.

hope it helped.

Dear forum members,

I thought I'd offer my two cents on the notarized documents debate.

As per my reading of the rules, only two types of documents must be notarized:

A) when the original is not in either french or english
B) when the checklist specifically demands a notarized copy (e.g. "notarized employment contracts")

Evidence of my theory working (atleast for me) is that my application passed the initial completion check despite many documents being simple copies of originals (i.e. Non-notarized). Ofcourse I could still be handed a NER (because of not notarizing my documents) but it seems rather frivolous of the CIO to pass a completeness check if all documents need to be notarized.

The lively discussion on the forum however has put some doubts in to my mind as well. I agree with members who choose to play a safe game and send only notarized copies of originals.

As a final point I'd just like to share my rather controversial view of immigration consultants. While I wouldnt go as far as calling them all frauds, this is certainly an industry which capitalizes on people's doubts and lack of information. Essentially, they read instuctions from a checklist we all have, and tell us to do work we could all have done with ease after a careful reading of the document. By and large the view that hiring an immigration consultant helps your chances of immigration seems to be a myth - just look at the spreadsheet with this year's applicants. Of all those who have passed the completeness check, only two hired a consultant I believe work experience and adaptability points are far greater determining factors. A consultant who makes money by compiling applications isn't going to reject easy money by telling a particular client that they have a "weak" case.

I think Wayne's (or Capuccino's) blog is a far greater advisory tool than a person looking to make money from your desire to move to Canada. With thorough online research and interaction with other applicants on similar forums, an applicant can get the best possible advice absolutely free!

Good luck everyone!

In my view 1122 cap has reached .Now they are just reviewing the 500 selection they had made.In any case doubted application needs to be replaced.CIC will anoounce the completion of cap in next update.Another take is that maybe they are waiting for all CC/BD charged of all the applications which had made within the cap. :-*
