Do they send AOR2 by email or paper (mail)? I am not sure if I received it, but I know my status is "In Process". I am just afraid they are sending correspondences and I am not receiving them.

Thanks for the answer! Guess, is just pray and wait. It's just very frustrating and scaring having your life on someone else's hands and they are taking there sweet time. What make's it so different from one office to another? For what I see, only European and Australian offices are faster. What's behind this huge difference?

That is an excellent question and only CIC could answer for sure but here are a few of the reasons it varies from one office to another:

-some countries have higher instances of marriage fraud so relationships from those countries are examined more carefully and thus take longer
-it is harder to do background and security checks in some countries because records are not computerized or documents are easier to forge
-some offices seem to be short staffed or busier than others (or maybe they are just less efficient :D)

What I find more interesting is why applications through the same office take such different times. Some of it is related to how many red flags you have (eg. large age difference, no family at wedding) or how complicated your situation is (eg. lived in many counties or was in the army) but even two similar straight forward simple cases can take months longer through the same VO. Why? Seems to be luck has a lot to do with it, which makes it frustrating when you compare your timeline to others. Patience is key as it's all out of our hands.

I've only ever received updates on my case via snail mail (SA arrived in the post). That's only info we've ever received. Thinking the email address wasn't clear enough for them - perhaps they though the l's were 1's or something.

My hubby got his AOR 2 when Manila VO sent his medical request. He just got the letter yeaterday.
Ecas said they started processing on March 17th,but on the letter that he got it actually said that they received his files on Mrch 17th.
Which I really thought they started processing but I guess not. They sent him a medical request so I guess that's ok,it means now they're working on it.

We got it thru email,I also received the same letter from our VO

Got a PPR (email copy) earlier this week! We were in Canada visiting and were able to go to the local library to scan my passport and email it back to Ottawa. ECAS still says "in process". Such a relief to hear something!

I just got an email from the Manila Visa Office about our application ...

"Dear Applicant,

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

You submitted photos which do not meet our current standard specifications. In order for our office to issue your visa(s) and/or Confirmation of Permanent Resident form(s), you must submit two (2) photos of yourself and of each accompanying family member respecting precise specifications that can be found at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf.

The required photos must be submitted thru the Visa Application Centre (VAC). Find a VAC in your area at http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/.

The issuance of your visa(s) and/or Confirmation of Permanent Resident form(s) is time sensitive so it is important for you to submit your correct photos within 15 days from the date of this letter. Failure to comply within the given timeframe will lead to a delay in the processing of your application.

Sincerely,

Permanent Resident Unit "

Does this mean they are close to issuing a visa/COPR if we send in correct photos? Also, We are currently in Canada... it says we must submit the photos through the Visa Application Center... but none are listed for Canada? These are only photos of the applicant.. correct?

does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks !

Is there anyone having problem with loging in on Ecas with UCI number? i cant login....

All I can think of is someone pulling easy cases from the shelf and doing them completely in order to train new employees. I used to work doing release audits for Corrections and that is the only case where it was acceptable to NOT work on the files in the order of release date. Hope this makes sense.

I see on the permanent resident applicant side of things it now says "Decision Made" nothing else though, no email yet or any other lines. Any idea what will happen next?

You should get your COPR in the mail soon! I understand "decision made" is good news because otherwise they would require an interview. Congrats!

I think our application has been misplaced , 7 weeks now and no update !!!! Still says in process on sponsor side and PR Side , I'm ready for a rubber room and a hug me jacket , Getting very worried now :'(
