Thank you. That really helps. Can you clarify this- There are two different case specific enquiry options - one for outside Canada (Colombo in my case) and one for inside Canada. Should I send both sponsor's info and applicants' info to Colombo? Or should I send mine through inside Canada CSE?

Yes, it's the same thing but ECAS does not show the level of detail you want. It is helpful to make sure you don't miss any correspondence or find out when a decision is made. You should have all you need to log in as only require your application number (which is on the AOR email you got) and some basic info about yourself like DOB and country of birth.

To get detailed info you need to order your gcms notes through an atip request (just google it and you will find all you need to know). It costs $5 and takes 30 days to get but will provide you all the info about your case like if an interview might be required or if your security checks have been completed. I ordered mine last week so just waiting to get them.

Are you living in Uganda now?

Thanks for the information. I am going to wait for a few weeks first before checking if there's another update.
I am living here right now, and you?

My husband is Ugandan but living in the US right now so I am with him there for a few months. Being apart was getting too hard for us and our son. I love Uganda though and have spent a lot of time there. Hoping to take our son back soon so he can meet his family in Uganda. Please keep me posted if you hear anything from Dar.

It's been so quiet January family. I thought by the end of April we would have a few DM from our faster offices but so far nothing. There have been several for December and even a February applicant got one last week (that has to be a record for fastest DM ever)! Any updates from anyone? How is everyone managing with the waiting?

Yes, you should send everything to the Colombo office. Your sponsorship decision has been made already. What is important now it the PR application.

Thanks for the info... I had no idea Feb babies got DM... two of them, less than 80 days.

January is so quiet you are right. I'm visiting Canada now so I'm dealing with the wait by reading a lot and going to free events here...

I thought you were applying for his PR in Canada? How did he get a visa to US?

Since Tanzania has opened up a new visa office, does this mean applications will be processed faster?

That's great you are able to be in Canada while waiting. Keeping busy definitely helps the time go by. Good luck to you!

Yes, we are applying for his Canadian PR. My husband was able to get a green card for the US last year through the DV lottery. He did that so he could be closer to us. It was much easier and quicker for him to get his US PR status than his Canadian is taking which is surprising and a sad statement about family class sponsorship in Canada. We had hoped since he is in the US our application would be processed in Ottawa which is super fast but it got sent to Dar :(

I had originally thought they opened it to speed up processing but so far it has been much slower than Nairobi so not helping at all. Although Nairobi seems faster now as they have fewer applications I assume. Hoping things speed up soon. They haven't even updated my husband's new address and I sent that in 6 weeks ago now. Painfully slow :(

Wow that was pretty fast processing. We are hoping for a positive update from CIC this May. My wife's application is already showing the third line as Medical Received. Im sure next to it is PPR.

Hi everyone. Question - if your ecas shows that the PA's application has started processing about a month ago at the VO, if they wanted additional documents etc would they have already asked by now, or is it possible they haven't even started working on it yet?

Hi all,
I gave today the passport and they said i will get it back by the end of next week with the PR visa.
I wish you all best of luck with your application.

Our visa office was Ottawa and we applied on January 18th.

:) :) :) :)
