Hi Finland, go Nordic region. Uncommon around here! Eisaa peittää!

I sent mine out Priority with Canada Post on Jan. 22nd and it was due to be delivered today. No such luck. You pay extra for a service and expect to receive that service. >:(

I was married last month and came back to Canada.
I'm in the process of finalizing my application for my spouse. I have a query and hope some could help me out.

If I travel back to India for 2-3 months after I submit my application (say End of Jan) will it affect my wife's PR application ?
I'll be here in Canada till my sponsorship is approved (which takes 33 days appx)

I need to go to India in May for 2 - 3 months.

Pls let me know.

I don't think that is a problem. You can go visit her. As long as you stay in Canada for 3 years out of 5 years, it should be fine.

Lol. I can say you are right. When my application was posted, it took 4 days to get to Mississauga and we weren't even able to track it with the code. Unfortunately, there had been a flood in Toronto one or two days before the package was submitted so we thought the delay was because of that. Otherwise, it usually takes a day to get to Mississauga from where it was posted.

I used Purolator - paid $16 to ship it and was well worth it. It was delivered by 10 AM next day! :)

Hi! I would like to join the spreadsheet too!

PR Type: Family Class - Spouse
Visa Office: Ottawa
Application Sent: January 24th 2014
Application Received: January 27th 2014 (Mississauga)
Meds Done: Not yet - waiting until requested..

Thanks :) Hoping we didn't make the wrong choice waiting to do the medical. Worried it would expire before we needed it.

P.S. I am the sponsor but using my husbands account (he's from the US) :)

If it happens to expire before they are finished processing your application they would extend it by one year. If it was to expire a month or so (just a number) after the decision has been made they would ask you if you intend to land in Canada before that, or if you want them to extend the validity of your medical.

Now since you are waiting for them to request it, it will take you longer to get a decision made, possibly at least a month, so I would suggest you do it before they request and send them the upfront medical receipt.

Okay - I'll get him to do his medical asap and I can send it in. Should I wait to send it to the Ottawa office (which will be processing my application) or the Mississauga office that I sent it to for the first step of processing?

Also.. I am worried about the police clearance checks. They require you to get FBI fingerprints and a background clearance to submit with the application. My husband send in his fingerprints to the FBI but it was taking so long to get them back we just sent in the application without them, with a note saying the Medical and Police Clearance will be included when they are requested. Should we have not done that?

Ok, spreadsheet updated! Link is in my signature. Everyone should be able to see it, but let me know if you can't or if there's some incorrect information.

I would wait until it has been transferred, but also ask others the same question. Get the police checks first, then so the medical and send it all together. Not sure where, so you need to ask someone else that. Good luck!
