Hey everyone! I just have a question about the application when it's at the CPC-Mississauga location. Will they mail out a form telling us our application number, or will they send an email.. or nothing at all?

It's only been two days since they've received the application and already I'm driving myself crazy with worry.. I don't know how I'm going to last a year or more! I'm worried I didn't include enough information about how our relationship is genuine, etc, and I miss my husband so much! I almost wish I had done the inland application, at least we could have been together while we waited.

I am trying to get my wife's application out this month, but we are so confused about the Police Criminal Record Check portion. She had a police record check when she left Iran to come study in Canada two years ago.

She has not left Canada since. What do we need to do for the police record check portion? Do we need to get her fingerprinted in Toronto, and then request a new record check from Iran? Do we also need to request a record check for Canada?

Or since she has not left Iran, will CIC be satisfied with their existing documentation on her and then do a security check for Canada?

I am assuming that you are the sponsor. If you are, did you give them your email address in the forms? If you did, they will email you the UCI number and if you didn't give the email address, they will send a letter which will be posted to you through regular mail and will take a few days longer to receive.

It is difficult staying apart but trust me, it is worth it in the end. With inland, it takes longer to process and your husband would not have medical coverage, nor any other benefits and would not have been able to work either. It would have been difficult if you were going to work and he was home getting bored.

I am not sure about Canadian PCC and fingerprinting but your wife will also need to get PCC from Iran. Basically, you have to submit PCC of any counrty your wife has been living in for 6 months or more. So she will have to submit both Canada's and Iran's PCC.

Thanks for the reply! I am indeed the sponsor and I did give my email so I guess I will try to sit patiently for the email notifications :) Does it usually take the 34 days quoted on the website? Also.. Is that 34 business days? Haha. I know I am glad I did outland it is just so hard to be apart! But I know its better in the long run :)

Looking at December 2013 applicants, 34 days seems quite accurate. Their spreadsheet gives a little insight how long it's taking now. Maybe the long holidays in December made them lag a bit behind, but let's hope they will get a bit faster!

That's actually not bad at all! I have hope it'll be fast.

Hmmm.. It should take about the same time as they have posted and sometimes a few days earlier for SA (sponsor approval). For me, it was different. They took longer that the days posted as they were on strike or something like that. Good luck.

Thanks for the add. In my case, the package has been delivered today January 31 in Mississauga.
By the way, thank you Aniabella for volunteering and maintaining the spreadsheet for us. I don't know anything about spreadsheets but if you need any help, I would be happy to assist.

Do you usually receive an email saying Mississauga has received your application? Or you onlly get a message once you are approved as a sponsor?

You get an AoR and also when you are approved as sponsor.
