Its really sad that you had to push them to get your file going. Did they tell you why your file is delayed like that? It is really far behind schedule now.

ama1978 maybe you should do like Zarilenth and call them again, at least to get AOR.

I was hoping that they would update the processing times soon and was gonna give them a call after that...saying that look...they are already in Feb now. This is getting ridiculous. There is no reason for a hold up when people in Feb are getting their AORs and even SAs. I am just getting down right pissed now.

Yay, finally! Got an email from CIC today. They've given us an application number reference plus a UCI number. I assume this is the AOR. Says it was received Jan 31st, as per my courier receipt too. Hope an SA will be coming next.....!

I would call for sure. Im not sure if it was just coincidence but when I called today, even though they told me they couldn't send an inquiry, I got my official AOR 5 minutes later.

Congrats Gumper. I got my SA in the next 4 days after receiving the AOR so yours should be the same. I know they are working on saturday so you can expect to receive it at the beginning of next week. After that, it goes to the maelstrom of Manila VO.

Thanks guys....yeah it may have been "Grumper" until today LOL! Hang tight ama1978 -- for sure call the help centre too. Into the "Manila maelstrom" after the SA indeed, Edgehead. I need to stop looking at spread sheets from previous months because THE worst progress updates all seem to be the Manila applications. Like I said from the outset, a Thanksgiving or Halloween gift would be great but let's hope we all are reunited with our spouses/partners by Christmas at least. (I'm going to the Phils next month, feel like stopping in to the Manila VO to do some begging! )

To all the January Manila VO applicants,
I just found out that we have been included in the Manila VO spreadsheet which is maintained by the Manila thread for English speakers. You can find the link in my signature and you are free to update your information there as well.
Looks like the maintainer is really reading all the monthly threads to find the Manila applicants because I never asked to be included in that spreadsheet.

I just noticed that in your post Edgehead. Very interesting. Looking at a 250-day or so average processing time after SA. That makes the total process in the neighbourhood of 9 months on average. Better than the 14 month average posted on the CIC web site, but still too long imo.

My goal is also Christmas, Im not really expecting before that. You're going to Phils next month! OMG I am so jealous now. I wish I can go with you and meet my wife again. The last time, I flew with Delta Airlines and I was really glad with them. Friendly flight attendants and all free movies on the on-demand entertainment system.

Luckily my job allows me to work from a distance & I have really understanding/supportive bosses, so it's worked out well up to now. I've got some business to do in Europe too, so will fly from Zurich on Emirates to Manila. I've never flown Delta but Emirates has been by far the best airline experience I've ever had, just in economy class too.

I did receive an email last Friday from the dept. acknowledging receipt BUT it is not the typical email you get from them. It was sent to me direct due to an inquiry into the file as nothing had been done at that point. Now I am being told that my file is "in process". No client ID or file # has been assigned to my file at this time. So really...so it seems I don't even have an official AOR yet. They told me to call back in a couple of weeks.

D: That sounds exactly like what they said to me, but my file did indeed have a Client ID... And all they would tell me is that it was 'in process'.. I'm so sorry

OMG a couple of weeks??? I hope they will continue to work on your application in the meantime. Im so sorry of what is happening to you ama1978.

My sympathies too ama1978....maybe think positively in that it hasn't been lost or anything that catastrophic. Hopefully once they get their attention back on it they will realize their error and expedite it. It is odd that you didn't get an "official" AOR, why would they send another email, and what does an email like that even look like? Stay positive as best you can, maybe it will all shake down in the next couple days
