Everytime you email them, you get an automatic reply that just says they received your email, it doesn't mean anything. They don't always reply to your email, that's my experience. I went to the Immigration section in Rome and even there they don't always answer your questions, they usually just tell you to go on the website.
About ecas I can check with my wife's info and mine as well. When I login with my imm file # I can only see the Permanent Residence application, whit my wife's client id # I can see both my application and her sponsorship application.
I don't know if Rome sends out emails for official things, so far I only received the AOR and it was a Raccomandata con R/R (the mailguy makes you sign a paper that will go back to Rome).

Let's try to think positive :D

Finally I find people that are applying or have applied through the Rome office. I was looking for you guys month ago. LOL

My husband is from Greece and we decided to apply inland because of the timelines on the CIC website. It looks like I made the right decision after reading your timelines. You guys should start a mini chart to see clearly what everyone's timelines are.

Good luck to everyone and I hope you guys all hear something soon. :)

Abbuffon - did you email them using a personal email account or did you just complete the online form for an enquiry?

personal email to "general enquiry". I don't think you can use the online form (CSE?) if the application has not exceeded the normal processing times (13 months for Rome, I guess). Actually on the forum I read somewhere that some VO get upset if you use CSE when not needed/allowed, I don't know if it is true and what they can do (push your application to the bottom of the queue? ;D) ...

Thanks abbuffon! I sent an email about a change we wanted to report and got an auto reply. Last week I had sent the change thru the online form but because i didn't get any type of reciept back, i wasn't sure if it had gone thru. They'll probably get mad that I sent it using both channels, but if you're sending an auto-reply back one way, you should do the same for the other way.....seems logical to me!

Angtao - keep us updated with your timelines as well. I've always heard that inland takes way longer than outland and i would imagine if timelines are increasing due to volume or just more scrutiny, that would apply to both inland and outland....

prettyinpink, I will definitely keep you guys posted. Right now going inland takes about 9.5 months to hear from CIC whether we have 1st stage of approval. Sometimes they give you both stages at the same time and then you land after that. I have a chart going in the Inland 2011 thread. I update it all the time.

Hi guys!

My husband and I have been out of town for a couple of weeks, no internet connection.
How are you all doing?

When we came home we found out we've been IN PROCESS since June 15th!!!!
FINALLY!!!!! What a relief! :D :D :D :D
It feels strange knowing they're examining all our documents. I wonder what they're thinking about us... ;)

Have a nice day!

Barbara

That's great news, Barbara! :D
Congrats, I'm so happy for you :)
Things start moving, finally....

Barbara, approximatley how long does it usually take for them to complete your file when it becomes "In Process"?

Also, just curious, I have never been to Italy before but I hear it is beautiful. What city do you guys live in?

If only I had an answer to you question... I would be able to buy flight tickets and finally plan our departure.

We live in the suburbs of Padova, a city 20 minutes away from Venice. It's a very nice area.
Where are you from? (if you don't mind me asking)

Hey Everyone,

Just an update. We were sent an email 2 weeks ago asking for some more documents. We sent them and they arrived last week. I sent an email to them replying that the documents were sent and hope to hear about the progress of the application. We got an email today saying:

Your application and documents are in queue to be reviewed.
Sincerely,
Visa Section/Rome

Pretty generic and similar to yours Barbara. Who knows what this means. I'm staying optimistic though. Fingers crossed that they'll request the passport in July....

... In process since June 29!!! Shocking :o

Way to go! Congrats!!! :D
