I have a question, I sent in my application last year in Mar and they received my application on April 1 2010 and started processing my application in June. I received a letter from them dated Jan 26 2011 requesting more proof that me and my common law are still living together, we sent back more documents and according to Canada Post they have signed and received our mail on Jan 17. I called the immigration yesterday, and they said that they are opening requested documents received on Feb 16. But there's still no notes saying that they have open our documents yet. Should I be worried?? Is it possible that the documents are lost? They say we have 90 days to respones, and I am pretty sure that's coming up soon... Don't know what to do...

Thank you!

do u mean they received it FEB 17 (not jan 17)?

hi, it takes 3 months or so to open letters at CIC so it should be some change on ecas soon for u. i dont think u should worry.

in my case i sent police clearance november 8 and they added it to file and updated ecas as january 14. so its kinda normal.
should call them if u wont see any changes till the end of april/or mid may.

You'll find out how sweet it is to land. Any celebration plans for that day???...

Muchas gracias! Estoy de lo mas feliz. No me lo puedo creer. No plans other than go back to work that day. I am sure I will celebrate on the weekend though. My friends who know how this process is are eagerly awaiting a Landing Party. :-)

hey reply n.2000!!! thats mine :P

Today we had our interview.

The lady who invterview us was very kind and nice. We got approved!!!!

First she some questions to both of us. Question about our address and about some pictures we sent earlier. She requested some recent pics, if we have them, and we did, although they didn't ask for them in the Call-in noticed.

Then she asked my husband to step outside and interview me alone.

She asked about my hubby's job, about his family about our friends. She asked me about his previous marriage and if i knew if it was a bona fide marriage or a bogus one. I answer the truth, i told her all that i know about her first marriage and all the drama involved (he told me the whole story rigth at the begining of our relationship).

She asked me to describe ouyr home and neighborhood. She asked about our future plans (babies or no babies). She asked me if my family and his family are aware of our relationship.

After all those questions (aprox 45 mins), she went outside and bring him to the room and proceed to interview him. I went out. After 15 mins or so she asked to come back and then she told us that she will be granting us an AIP and we should received in the mail within 2 weeks.

In the meantime we are trying to get the constancia from mexico. Hopefully after that we will received our landing interview.

We are so happy!!!! Finally after 24 months of waiting. We got Approval In Principle!!!

:D :D :D

Hello My Inlanders friends,
Love_Younge how are you and thanks for creating this thread which is so helpful to many.
Theresa_Lynn so happy for you too we both are in the same boat & this time the tide is our side.

Here is my story Chronicles,

I got total 3 brown envelops dates 6th April 2011, (1) Open work permit until April 2013 (2) Sponsorship approval letter (3) AIP which says "I still need to get police clearance certificate from my embassy (Country of origin) in Toronto.

Though it says on e-cas "Decision has made" & "Medical has been received" doesn't mean P.R. Yet.

Any suggestions & ideas my dear friends?!

Mark_Anna - Once they receive the police clearence you will probably receive PR. Congrats!

Just to update everyone we received AIP as of April 12, 2011!! YAY!!

these days it seems that they are granting AIP & PR almost at the same time, so it could be that they are just waiting for your police certificate....maybe that's what it is.....
