Hi!

I'm a January 7 applicant. My sponsor received SA today.
However, no AIP because I need to provide the following documents: Proof of Relationship, Stat Dec of Common-Law IMM5409 and Communication Proof.
I thought I included everything I could but apparently not... :o

It says to send the information to a Mississauga address and there is also an email address. I'm wondering if I can send the scanned documents to that email address or should I just sent a regular mail? It's not that important, I am just curious to know if anyone did it before.

Thanks!

Since you have to sign the IMM5409 in front of a notary/commissionaire/lawyer, I think it's better to send the original.
You can get some idea here of what can you send as more proof:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1exVjDW_qTVuCdi9Fnd5pKlOSA-XJ82Z4JDUZkUtQrE8/edit#heading=h.taxg2g2d44yv
Usually they are asking for more proof because they are not satisfied that your relationship is genuine, so try hard and send something more. You can ask close friends and family members to write support letters for you.
Did you live apart for a long time before you became common-law partners? Or what kind of communication proof are they requesting?

Hi all.
Do you have any idea how long it does usually take after receiving AIP to process the principal applicant's application for a decision?
We received our sponsorship approval on Mid March, but haven't heard anything else.
Thank you

Thank you Sophieee for answering my question :)

I just got an email of Receipt of Application for me (the applicant) from the Case Processing Centre Mississauga.
My application was received on 27 July 2015. I wish July/August 2015 applicants all the best.

Hello guys,

I am new to this thread and my name is micky.I have sent out my application on 18 dec 2015 and my sponser(wife) got her ecas alive under my name. Its showing start processing on 26 jan 2016 but my ecas shows nothing yet.Whats that mean?is it AOR or what? Also I have not received my open work permit yet?

question:1:My passport was going to expire in sept 2016 but I wrote a letter of description along with my file on 18 dec 2016 saying that I will be sending my new passport copies once I received my new passport.I just got my new passport last week and sent them which was received by them on 23 march,2016.Do you think they will add my new passport and will provide me 2 years open work permit now?

I also heard that new government going to change the processing time from 26 months to 3 or 6 months?Anyone heard about this?

Any help will be really appreciated :).Conratulations who got their AOR and open work permit and all the best for the rest of the process.I pray everyone's get PR soon..

cheers

Send the copy of your Passport to case specific inquiry online.
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

They will get back to you after 10 days. Haven't heard anything about processing times going from 26 mos to 6 mos. If that's the case that's great

Thank you Sophieee. I will do that! We lived almost 2 years together before becoming common-law partners but never paid our bills together nor had joint bank accounts for example. :(

Here is what they are requesting for the communication proof: "Proof of communication (photos, letters, E-mails, phone bills), between you and your sponsor Provide details of your relationship with your spouse and/or commonlaw partner and how it developed. If you were living apart, how did you maintain your relationship? How did you first met? Who introduced you? Include any details that are relevant to establish you have a genuine relationship. Please do not send any electronic media items, such as CDs, DVDs, or VHS tapes."

I already explained everything so I am not sure what else to add... I will try to gather as much documents as possible. I hope it will be okay...
