A quick question. The AOR that we get from CIC is that an email or a mail (Canada post or something)?

It depends on what you've chosen for the way of communication, do you remember marking the Email or Mail box on one of the forms?

Can't recall if there was somewhere to chose mode of communication from. Did give emails and physical address both. I am checking both, just was curious on how people are getting AOR

If you gave your email address then they use that as primary way of contact and will email AOR I believe. It said something like 'if you fill in email address, we will contact you via this' (not exact words but example). Check spam folder.

I'm currently on a study/work visa and it expires on the 21st of November. I'm not sure if I should apply for a visitor visa or something since I'm afraid if the application comes back with something wrong I wont' have a legal status anymore. Any advice?

The AOR could take a month, or...you could never receive it, thanks to the inconsistencies with CIC.

As long as you paid the proper amount for the OWP ($255), and you're certain that you sent the latest version of all PR forms (and that all required signatures are in place), you should receive the OWP by early February 2016.

If your PR application and/or the OWP is returned, you will still have time to apply for Restoration of Status, since you will have 90 days (21st February) to do so.

If you sent your application(s) with a way to track the delivery (which you hopefully did), that will, in essence, be your AOR date...as long as your application is deemed to be complete.

Hello there! I submitted my application last August 11. I can't see my status on eCAS and haven't received any email or mail. How am I suppose to check my status? Can i call the help centre? I'm a bit worried.
