i have a question here is there any delay in processing application because you were married before and came in canada by spousal sponsorship and now you r sponsoring your spouse from second marraige, anyone having experience dis situation, please answer

There wouldn't be any delay - just standard processing time. However, they will probably want to interview you. Did you send enough evidence that the previous marriage clearly ended and that the second marriage is a genuine one? Give us some more details. How long ago were you sponsored by your first spouse? How long did you know your second spouse before you got married?

application sent later november 2014
application received AOR: Dec 5 2014
Sponsorship application status: In process on April 2 2015

by far we are looking hopefull
I have a few questions:
1. I have sent in an application for an open work permit in feb 2015, how long before I get it?
2. My status is an on study permit, I had a PGWP in the past and it expired before i Extended. I am graduating this month tho. Can i work while waiting for my open work permit
I called the call center and some said I can work and some said I cant, very confusing. what is you guys opinion and how long before I get AIP.
thanks :)

1. Around 4 months.
2. You should get a written confirmation from CIC especially if they tend to say different things. Best way is to contact your MP.
3. At this very moment the processing time for AIP is 16-18 months.

Hi,

My visitor record expiring on 27 May. If I apply to extend it and if the application reaches Vegreville by 27 or 28 May, will that be acceptable? or my application will not be considered for extension?

I have been waiting to receive my OWP but nothing yet. That's why I am submitting it late. Moreover, in case, if I don't go for the visitor record extension, will I face any problem with CIC or my Inland PR application?

Please help.

You should be on implied status because of your OWP application, although it doesn't look good that you haven't got it yet. If your OWP application was properly sent and this is just a basic delay, than you shouldn't send a visitor extension as it can confuse CIC. If you are afraid that there is something wrong with your OWP application, and you want to send a visitor extension, CIC needs to receive it at least on May 27th, but May 25-26 would be better. In your case I would apply online.
If you don't apply for visitor extension and it turns out that there is something wrong with your OWP application, you can apply for restoration of status until August 24th.

thanks a lot BirdBoy008, I will be contacting my local MP.
the excel tracking sheet for the everyones cases seems to give me hope of a work permit arriving shortly.
thanks again.

Hi All,

Quick question on Form IMM5669 background/declaration

On checklist it says only filled up by principal applicant but on form first line it says

Indicate whether your are "The principal applicant" or "The spouse, common-law partner or ..."

Please let me know who should fill this form. and why they give this option?

Thanks

Only the applicant needs to fill it out. If you were sponsoring your parent he/she could have a partner.

Thank you so much Sophie!

I woke up early this morning just to talk to CIC call center. I talked to the agent and they told me that they have notified the concerned office about the delay in my OWP and it will be sent ASAP.

I hope to get it soon. My baby is due in Aug and I am hoping to get it before that so my Alberta Health coverage will be continued. I have decided not to send my extension.

Thank you!
