Really so what it is that will prove that they are still together since well you know so much .Thats what I sent ,joint bank acc,insurance and extra fotos,text,email and receipts on things I bought online .

I think the key is living together, as Ponga pointed out, not just "together" as a couple.

There are explicit rules about proving residency.

Well...think about it for a minute.

Just because you take a picture with someone, how does that prove that you are still cohabiting (which is what CIC has been asking couples for lately)?

It doesn't even [really] prove that the couple is still together, right? They could `pretend' for the camera, when they truly hate each other now!

The only proof will be something showing that they are still living under the same roof (mail, letter from landlord, etc.).

Its hard as we have been living together in my girlfriends sisters house during this whole process, We don't get sent that much mail as everything is paperless and online these days so there is just no need for it...

Yes I can get a letter from her sister stating we have been living together but its annoying to think at the amount of evidence we provided to them when we first submitted our application, the application itself is put together very well by our Lawyer and there shouldn't be any issues. Its not our fault that the CIC is taking so long processing application that we are forced to prove again that we have been living together since we submitted our application.

Some updates on the 1-year trend graphs referenced for people who submitted April 1, 2014:

From this graph we see that CIC was almost keeping up with processing (only increasing processing time slightly) from mid-February to about a few weeks ago.

From this graph we see that given a 1-year linear trend someone who submitted April 1, 2014 can expect to be processed sometime in October 2016.
Yes this trend includes the multiple breaks and outages experienced by CIC over the past year, but who are we kidding, we're likely to see plenty more breaks and zero improvement, it's the government after all.
We also see an exponential 1-year trend, this trend assumes that the rate of improvement will continue to increase, which is highly unlikely, and that gives April 1, 2014 submissions a processing time around October 2015.

You should probably get in the habit of referring to her as your Common-Law partner, instead of your girlfriend.

If her sister agrees to write a letter, it should be notarized (or similar).

Its not our fault that the CIC is taking so long processing application that we are forced to prove again that we have been living together since we submitted our application.

When I was asked for proof of cohabitation I sent the following:

- Lease agreements (they asked for proof from 2012 onwards and unfortunately I was not on the lease agreement for our first place, but I was able to get a letter from the building manager saying that I lived there with my husband - it was not notarized though)
- Bank statements with our addresses on them (I downloaded the online statements and just printed them. My husband and I only joined our accounts this year so I just sent statements for both of us)
- Copies of our drivers licenses with addresses, copy of our cheque book with address
- Any mail I could find from 2012 to present for either myself of hubby or both of us
- Copies of any CIC letters to me that had my address
- Copies of any invoices from purchases with our addresses on them (e.g. dental bills, online purchases)

I would like to ask if anyone of you could tell me where to get the best and most affordable health insurance ? I am in Canada (NB) right now and my old european health insurance ran out. There are so many health insurances out there, my hubby and me are not sure which one to choose ? And how does it work when I got insurance ? Can I then just go with the insurance contract in the hospital or to a doctor ?

In BC, a person is a `Deemed Resident' when they submit their PR application and can have coverage in ~ 3 months.

The unfortunate part is that most people that are truly eligible still have to fight with BC MSP to get the coverage, since some of the employees don't seem to fully understand this special eligibility.

Wow congratuation ! Surprised cic working on January 2014 app
Can you tell me did you receive 2 AOR , one for sponsor and one for appliacent ?
I just got one AOR for myself, but my sponsor never received AOR.
My lawyer said all his cases got 2 AOR, I am so worried something wrong with my case. It has been more than 7 months after submitting my app.
Please let me know, thank u so much!!!
