I received an email today advising that I met all requirements to sponsor my husband. It doesn't say AIP but it does day he will also be contacted. The downside here is they have asked him to redo the medical (we did the medical prior to applying) and they only gave him 30 days or they might throw out the application.

If you send it "EXPRESS" by Canada Post take just 2 business day, you just have to pay more.
I sent some documents from AB, and the next day arrived in Mississauga, I paid $19.95, kind of expensive but you have to do, what you have to do.

So far I haven't heard much on my end, but we're coming up to the Visitor Visa expiring at the end of May so we only have a couple of days to figure out if we need to extend it. We applied for the pilot OWP at the end of December, so theoretically the OWP should be done before he goes out of status...buuuut it seems like they weren't honest about the 4 month max wait and the visitor visa will run out long before we hear back from them.

I know you have to be in-status in order to get the OWP, but does anyone know if we can apply for a Visitor extension when you have a OWP awaiting approval? Or is there some sort of rule about not applying for two things at the same time? (We're thinking of just highlighting that it's only to be used as an intermediate visa between when the other visitor visa expires and the OWP, but we're scared of getting into trouble by mentioning it)

4 months is just MINIMUM waiting time, based on what I read on some posts in this forum. I did apply for a Visitor Visa extension since I did not submit my OWP the same time as the sponsorship application. To my understanding, an "implied status" is only applicable to those who submiited both sponsorship and OWP at the same time.

You have to be in status in order to apply for the OWP and now, if your visitor visa runs out you will have implied status. You don't need to apply for another visitor extension, you can just wait for the OWP.

Na, CIC isn't even pretending to have any progress.
As with any broken process you'll see the occasional fluke, but official word on the CIC website is that they're achieving new records for extreme processing times every week.

We submitted our application March 19th 2015 and we have been looking at the inland spread sheet. I was wondering if anyone knew in general if the "Date Application Received by CIC" actually corresponds to the date that someone signed for the package?

No. This date is provided by CIC when they send us the AOR. But I think that people who don't have AOR could add the signed date on the spreadsheet because it gives an idea of their timeline...

Typically, yes; the AOR date will show that "We received your application for Permanent Residency on [date]", which will be the same date that it arrived at their facility.

Hi guys, it's been a while I post something again here..

I am a Jan 2014 applicant, and this morning I received an email from CPC-M. They are asking me to submit my marriage certificate which is really odd because I am 200% sure that we had submitted with our PR- we checked at least 10 times before we sent in our PR app and we received AOR in Apr 2014.

In a way I am glad that somebody finally opened and took a loot at my app..
I shared this on FB group already, but I thought I would do it here too..
