Hello Everybody!

Has anyone, who applied for an OWP under the pilot program after Dec. 2014, received the work permit already?

Have a good day ;D

We have submitted in early Jan, but got nothing until now...

For some applicant CIC include the "started processing..." line with the date they put your info into eCAS. I'm sorry, but it doesn't mean anything.
ok thanks Sophiee.. Will still wait I think.

Hi Anng, looks like I'm in your shoes.

You filed roughly a month after myself, and as of yesterday my ECAS is saying exactly the same thing as yours. So we both got ECAS access on the same day, and we are both being reported to be "In Process".
According to my ECAS they started processing my sponsorship application on January 24, so roughly 18 days before your date, or 26 days ago.
I'm guessing that some other applicants who applied a month before me got ECAS access yesterday too, and they'll have a date showing December 20-ish, or 60-odd days ago. Is there anyone like this out there?

I don't mean to be a downer, but I don't think that either of us are actually being processed right now, and if they are I really doubt we'll hear anything in 2 months. Given how incredibly terrible CIC is, they're processing 1 day a week now, I don't see how either of us are actually in process, especially since it appears that if they process application in order, we both should be waiting another year or more.

This might be some kind of miracle, and trust me, I'd love that, but I'm guessing it's just some kind of update to ECAS, some dates in the system that mean nothing.
thank you GustavesF so i guess we still have to wait.

Does anyone have any tips for getting through to the CIC Call Center?

I want to try spamming them hard enough to get through so I can ask if my OWP app got attached to my PR app.
Then I want to try again 2 or 3 times to get an average answer.

Number sequences, or any tips at all are appreciated.

Others says it's easier to get through if you call right after 8 am.

Hello!

Has anybody who sent an OPW after Dec. 22, 2014, has received any feedback?

not heard of any. don't expect to hear any till april. at least that's when paper work permit applications will catch on.

Hello everyone! Quick question, I just received a mail that says "This confirms that your application has been received..." with an application number starting with "F". Is this the AOR? Just want to make sure :)

Many thanks!

The best thing you can do it call your MP and make an appointment to see them. They can call the CIC directly - they have an inside line - so there is no listening to 30 minutes of options, and no waiting on hold. They are also *real people* so they give *real answers*. Your MP will be more than happy to assist you in this. I went a few weeks ago and they told me exactly which forms and documents they received and when.

Good luck!

Sponsor received a mail (snail mail - sent one week ago) from CIC to tell that we have to apply for CSQ from Quebec. Sponsor's Ecas is showing that application is in process from late January, 2015.

A few more graphs using using the updated "working on applications" date:

In this one we can see that the processing time is still increasing, it is increasing slightly more slowly than the average rate seen over the last year.
Every time the graph goes below the trend line the rate is better than typical:

The the below graph we predict the processing time for an applicant submitting April 1, 2014 (just so happens to be me, wonder how that happened...).
Using the more recent number instead of the months long total stagnation we can see that there are slightly more optimistic predictions.

Using the past year as reference linearly I expect to be processed by October 2017, but assuming an exponential increase in productivity I may expect processing as early as July 2016.

In summary, this week's progress indicates that CIC is still a national embarrassment, but at least this past week wasn't as bad as usual.

I don't think that this speculation is accurate. If you look at the data on the spreadsheet, you will notice that since the beginning of this year (which was when they implemented pilot OWP and other improvements), it's taking them an average of one month to process one month's worth of applications (as demonstrated by almost all of September'13 being processed, at least for AIP some and AIP+DM for others, within the month of February). In addition to that, when I ordered my notes from CIC the last time (a few weeks ago), the "due date" of my processing was marked as sometime in November 2015. I am an April 3, 2014 applicant.

So I highly doubt that it will take CIC 3 years to process our applications. I think a better assessment would be to wait at least 3 more months and then compare the data.
