I'm so happy fro everyone who received AOR!

IT's strange tough, I thought that always the sponsor got the AOR, and in our case my husband (Sponsor) received it. And they sent it from this address: Client-update-mise-a-jour @ cic.gc.ca

Did you get AOR as well?

You are correct. The sponsor is the one that gets the AOR. So you won't see an UIC for yourself. Odd as it is, the UIC assigned in the AOR is for the sponsor.

CIC is working at light speed. March, April and May applicants on same day! Never seen this before.

I have a strong feeling that they are clearing the backlog and all the complaints have been taken more seriously.

I got an AOR already but on my application I dis not submit for OWP application. Anyone can help me what to do? My work permit will be expiring on January 2015.

How long It will takes for AIP?

Currently CIC says "11 months" on the website but states they are processing applications from just over 12 months ago. So you should expect AIP 12-13 months after your application was received by CIC. You don't say what kind of work permit you are on, but since you did not submit an OWP you are not covered by implied status (for those work permits that allow extension) and thus you will have to stop working when your work permit expires.

I will suggest that you put together an OWP application and submit it to CPC-M and request that it be added to your file - the AOR has a file number on it and you should reference that file number in order to ensure your OWP is added to the file. Then in about 2 months, order your GCMS notes to confirm that they have received your OWP. Then - if your work permit is extendable - you are covered by implied status and may continue working until they make a decision.

Alternatively, if you are on a non-extendable work permit (IEC or PGWP) you might want to determine if you are eligible for CEC. If so, you would be wise to file a CEC application instead of a sponsored spouse/partner application. A CEC applicant will receive AOR approximately 2 months after they file it and that AOR makes them eligible for a "bridging open work permit". Processing times for a CEC application - from beginning to end - are 13 months.

Just to add to this discrepancy, I am the applicant, and I am the one who received the AOR Email, not my sponsor, though he did include his Email address in the application.

Same here. Im an applicant too. And Im the one to get an AOR. Me and my wife we both expected for her as a sponsor to get it first??

I have one question. when the sponsor logs into ecas, we only see: your application was received on ...
should it also say that they have received our medical? or should it say that they have started processing? what does yours say after receiving AOR? thanks everyone

Yeah I got the AOR to my email as well (I'm the applicant), the sponsor didn't receive a thing.

I work in a hotel under LMO, Can I still submit an application fo OWP and make an explanation letter? Thanks

Question:

I sent in my hubby's medical results about 3 months after sending in the PR application. (Sent results to CPCM early June). When will CIC acknowledge that they have received the results? On ecas it is not showing anything.
