They've processed July applications for almost half a year now. What a joke!mary63 said:yeah! how is that even possible!!!
there was joy yesterday and heartbreaking news today. CIC is doing backward in processing date. This roller coaster will never ever end.Gaymer said:I got my AOR today. My application was received on May 5th, it seems.
Definitely will do that. Taking half a year for July applicants is ridiculous. It's like they refuse to leave July.civic said:there was joy yesterday and heartbreaking news today. CIC is doing backward in processing date. This roller coaster will never ever end.
Tweet Chris Alexander. Facebook him. Send him email. This is crazy.
If you are on a closed work permit and submit an OWP application along with your PR application, you are covered by "implied status" until such time as a decision on your OWP application is issued. You don't need an explanation letter. Just maintain evidence that you have applied (a copy of the fee paid receipt is good, as is a copy of your GCMS electronic notes indicating your application has been submitted).sherryl galacgac said:I work in a hotel under LMO, Can I still submit an application fo OWP and make an explanation letter? Thanks
I have friends who are going through the US process - they're into their 12th month now. The advantage of the US process is there's a lot of feedback throughout the process. The applications don't sit in a queue for a year before an officer reviews them.civic said:The whole process in USA takes 4-6 months. Same thing in Canada, one tenth of USA"s population, takes 2 year. I dont know what these guys are thinking.
yes, there seems to be a difference in processing of 2013 outland apps and 2014 outland apps. somehow jan-april apps were processed in lightening speed. there's even a may 1 applicant who's received COPR. no one knows why, or if this will continue. i'm in the group that doesn't want to ask and hope they don't ask for COPRs to be sent back!computergeek said:I have friends who are going through the US process - they're into their 12th month now. This happens every time there is a change in process. I was caught in the Buffalo to Ottawa shuffle (which pushed US Outland Stage 1 to almost 4 months, and had many people waiting more than a year for Stage 2) and watched Inland suddenly "catch up" as they phased out FOSS (Inland Stage 1 time dropped from 12 months to 5.5 months over the late summer of 2012). I was very fortunate to have a strong advocate at the Department of Justice ensuring that my application was processed expeditiously.rhcohen2014 said:yes, there seems to be a difference in processing of 2013 outland apps and 2014 outland apps. somehow jan-april apps were processed in lightening speed. there's even a may 1 applicant who's received COPR. no one knows why, or if this will continue.
Because it's exciting to know that they at least picked up the package from their mail room and opened it!indiana_rica said:so why all this excitement about AORs, didn't our postal service confirm that it was received by cic,,
It also helps some people qualify for medical coverage (e.g., here in BC where they want something "in writing" from CIC showing the application is in process).lellen said:Because it's exciting to know that they at least picked up the package from their mail room and opened it!
