Hold up, is "proof of residency" or "proof of cohabitation" actually required? I checked over that document checklist I swear like 684839303 times and don't ever remember it being there.

What even is acceptable forms of it? We don't have an actual lease (were sub-letting from his cousin) but would printed pay stubbs or bank statements with the shared address count? I think I included a letter from our previous roommate that said we lived together for 6 months, when she moved out if that counts?
For what? Are you asking about the PR application, or OHIP (which is what the birthday card posts are addressing)?

If you're asking about a Common-Law application, you have to show sufficient proof of cohabiting with your partner/sponsor.

Oh whoops, it's for the spouse application for PR.

Okay, so we received a new letter from CIC today.

This one states:

In previous correspondence, you were informed that your application for permanent residence had been reviewed, and an exemption to the requirement to obtain a visa outside of Canada had been granted. No we haven't received anything regarding any kind of exemption.

You were also advised that you must meet all other statutory requirements of the Immigration Act such as medical, security and passport requirements, etc. Again, no, we haven't received anything like that.

Please note that a final determination regarding you ability to comply with all statutory requirements will not be made until such time as you appear for your landing interview.
So, do they just not know that they haven't sent us any correspondence regarding medical, security, or passport requirements, or is this boilerplate?

I got to admit that it is the first time I saw a letter like that. I can't advise you on this matter other than apply for ATIP on your file and find out what's going on there.

Did an ATIP request September 7 or 8, so that means they still have till 2018 to respond to it. My interview is in less than 2 weeks, so I don't really think I'll know anything more before that date.

Yeah, we got a landing date.
It sounds like another mistake letter then. If you have your landing date, with the stereotypical info like bring this call-in notice, passport, permit, pictures etc., I don't see any reason to bring any other documents.

Maybe call the call centre again and mention that letter :D they are usually so helpful and educated ;D

Yeah, we got a landing date.
I would send an email to the landing office and ask them. They have to know if you are missing something, and maybe they can answer your email before your landing appointment.

Strangely no contact information was provided, well, when I say strangely, I should say: as per my expectations.

They give me the phone number for the call center... looks like I'll be calling the center a few times tomorrow.

I'll figure out what they want from me one way or another, maybe I'll have to just show up there and ask them.

I would suggest to keep calling CIC everyday until you get your answer. The last thing you want happening is showing up at landing and being told to come back with documentation needed. I wouldn't want to wait until landing day to find out.

I meant that I'd show up there and ask someone far in advance of my landing date.

Blah, before trying to immigrate my spouse I only had a mild dislike of government, now it's fairly full-on.
Inflexible and stupid is just such a cumbersome mix, I can deal with one, but not both at once.

Just wait until you deal with the health system (in Ontario, at least). Makes immigration look "well run."

I got ahold of someone at my landing office, and they are saying that it's just boilerplate.

I'll be copying that correspondence and bringing it with me.
