I totally understand your situation.. :( When did they send it back to you?
The only difference that I found in the sponsor's form is in the "Obligations of the sponsor", D section.. And it does not apply to us!
So hopefully they wont return to me my whole package because of this form.
Yeah, they added something about parents and grandparents in section D (and added section E).

I guess I'll have to call them tomorrow and spend an hour on hold....only to hear what I already suspect. :(

Your application was received before the 17., so I think it won't be transferred. But yeah, it's distressing, that I could get AOR the next week and we wasn't even informed about the transfer.
Hmm..
"Any SCLPC applications that CPC-V has not commenced processing will be routed internally to CPC-M. Upon receipt of these cases, CPC-M will send a letter to the sponsor advising that their application was transferred from CPC-V to CPC-M for assessment and processing."

According to this, since my app hasn't been started processing, they are gonna send it to Cpp-m..

It's kind of ambiguous,...

I'm just hoping that the CPC-M process the applications faster...I am so bored not doing anything at home. I came out of status last Nov. 29 since my restoration got refused as TFW for Licensed Practical Nurse job due to not having Positive LMO.

I just sent my apps few days ago, I'm just intrigued since the other applicants in 2013 thread from Halifax said that they can avail a Medical Card even though they don't have AIP yet...hmmm I think I will try to call if it's true or not.

I applied for Commin-Law by the way since me and my partner have been living together for 1 year and 6 months and I'm hoping it will not cause a lot of delays but if they will send my apps in local CiC, I'm hoping it will not takes ages since I heard in Edmonton local CIC office takes ~24 months which is kinda crazyyy....

Hey everyone
I need some help regarding Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union IMM 5409.
Who must complete this form?
This form must be completed and signed by the sponsor and common-law partner, only if the latter is a co-signer on the application
I am not sure if I ,the sponsored, need to sign it.
Thanks for your help :)

None of the co-signer stuff is relevant in a spousal/common-law sponsorship as there cannot be a co-signer.

I'm not sure why you are even looking at that form. I don't see it in the application package from http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp

This application package includes:

Document Checklist [IMM 5443] (PDF, 70 KB) January 2014
Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (IMM 1344) (PDF, 417 KB) November 2013
Sponsorship Evaluation [IMM 5481] (PDF, 110 KB) April 2012
Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] (PDF, 366 KB) November 2013
Additional Dependants/Declaration [IMM 0008DEP] (PDF, 472 KB) July 2011
Additional Family Information [IMM 5406] September 2013
Schedule A – Background/Declaration [IMM 5669] (PDF, 170 KB) December 2012
Spouse/Common-law Partner Questionnaire [IMM 5285] (PDF, 112 KB) August 2013
Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] (PDF, 55 KB) April 2013
Receipt [5401]
Instruction Guide [IMM 5289]
Use this application if:

you are the spouse or common-law partner of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident,
you want to apply for permanent residence and
both you and the sponsor live in Canada.

I guess you need to sign and fill it in. Some applicants were asked later for this docs to sign it.

I've done mine...I guess there's no harm to do this just playing it safe for causing delays in your app especially if you're applying Common-Law

I sent mine with statutory declaration from 2 people( family and friend) notarized.

Nova Scotia extends health care coverage to dependents of eligible residents. Thus, as a spouse/partner, you may be eligible for health care coverage. This is true of most provinces but is not true of Ontario or Quebec. BC requires the foreign national spouse/partner be in the PR process, but this isn't true for AB. Health care is administered by the provinces and thus the answer to this varies by province.

Hi thanks for your info.
Do we need to sign it in front of any notary or bodies?

Yes it needs to be notarized... You have to enumerate all kinds of proofs for being Common-Law. It's very straightforward.
