Good luck to everyone still waiting!

We have a question - we just landed on Friday (yay!), however there was Condition 51 (must cohabit for 2 years after PR) placed on the COPR.

We were living together for 4 years before applying, it shouldn't apply to us. Thoughts? We are going to write to CIC as per direction of the call centre, agents told us it was an error in our case.

What is your experience at landing, others who have made it? Do you also have Condition 51? And if so, how long was your marriage/common-law before applying? Thanks!

Hello TorontoCouple .....i just received a letter from immigration saying that they have completed the processing of my PR application . In order for them to schedule a landing appointment I must complete the attached form and the details of photospecification and I have to send it back to them in 5 days .....on the 3rd page of that letter there was a part indicating my original entry date and next to it indicating my last entry date ....my question is..... since im going to visit my family in my country on Sunday January 25 till February 24 .....so it means my last entry date will change since I will be leaving for a month and returning on Feb.24th...should I call cic and inform them about this ?

Good news

I called RAMQ (quebec health care) yesterday to ask if I'm eligible for the coverage. They said since my OWP (under the pilot program) is C27, I am eligible for the card. They said they will send me a package and after receiving it, I can go to the office to complete the process. The coverage will be available from 3 months after the WP is issued.

I hope it helps the quebec applicants!

Good news

I just feel so stupid for trusting on advice that the "USELESS " ccagents (as I referred to them a couple days ago ) . My passport was seized by CiCEdmonton due to a refugee claim I did 4 years ago , I sent so many faxes to this local office about that ( last fax was 10 days ago ) . I also called cc so many times asking about what I should do about my passport , they always told me " don't worry , they will have your passport for you on that day " ,
So , just to make sure I sent letters and faxes to cic edmonton to confirm this ( they never replied though ) .
Today , I reminded this to the first agent I met at cic's front counter , then she checked my appointment letter , my 2 photos , and just told me that everything is fine and just wait at the waiting seats . 2 hours after , an officer called my name and told me that because I was suppose to land tru a family class application , they expected me to have my passport on hand ,
They didn't check that I have made a refugee claim ,so they never read any of my 10 letters I sent ,,, so they "guessed " that probly CBSA has it . So according to the officer , the plan to follow is : they contact CBSA and try to retrieve my passport from them , and within a couple more months they will contact me and reschedule another appointment , easy haaa!
I think that by now , that officer I spoke to today ,already forgot everything she told me because she was very busy landing everybody else ,
Out of luck and out of words now ,

It sounds like there is still a very good chance that you will land, just later than you had hoped!

Since CBSA will undoubtedly give you (or CIC) your passport, you should be fine...eventually.

I'm so sorry about that, I can't even imagine how do you feel right now. I guess the good news is that eventually you will be able to land, just need to wait a little more... I know it's very tough, but at least you can stay here. Try to stay strong!

Sorry to hear, but as Ponga said, it sounds like you will just have to wait a little longer to have things sorted out about your passport... It's not a failure or rejection...
What did you mean when you said you have so many things to cancel??
